Here’s the lenses I had for my metaquestv2 they have little magnets that attached to magnetic lense adaptors. If the inside of the Vision Pro is metal I wonder if they’ll attach to it ?

I have been using progressive glasses for the past three years but selected “For seeing things far away“ instead of “For seeing up close and far away“ on the questionnaire for ZIESS optical inserts. Is this going to create any problems with the optical insert?
My progressive prescription was verified by ZEISS

Recapping my experience here. For context, I'm active duty military so my most recent prescription was written by a military optometrist at a military optometry clinic.

I ordered a vision pro with Zeiss inserts about 12 hours ago. A little while ago I was notified that Zeiss was unable to verify my prescription. So, I go check out what issues Zeiss found with the prescription:

1) No DOB
2) Prescriber is not an optometrist or opthamologist
3) Prescription is expired

No DOB - fair. Nowhere was it stated during the ordering process that this would be required and it's not listed on my prescription.

Prescriber is not an optometrist - the prescription shows my prescriber's name, license number, and NPI number along with his signature. Using the NPI Registry I was able to pull up all his details, including the fact that he is a licensed Optometrist in the state of Florida. WTF?

Prescription is expired - the prescription clearly states that my exam was performed Jan 9th 2023 and is valid for 2 years. WTF?

I called Apple support to explain the issues. They connected me to Zeiss phone support who was not remotely helpful. All they were able to do, after I explained why their "issues" with my prescription were bogus, was refer my complaint to a supervisor who would get back to me "within 72 hours."

Agree with what some of the other posters have said: it was bad form by Apple/Zeiss not to be more transparent up-front about prescription requirements. Finding out after the fact that Zeiss doesn't know how to verify an optometry license, can't read a prescription, or that you don't meet their arbitrary requirements for a valid prescription is a truly frustrating experience. Give them your feedback so they can improve the process for others.

Update: After another frustrating and unfruitful conversation with Zeiss customer support, I decided to just try uploading another copy of my prescription, but this time with my DOB written on it (by me) and a couple of items highlighted (again by me).

...and Zeiss accepted it within 5 minutes. Literally the same prescription with the DOB added. Suddenly, no issue with the expiration date or the license status of my optometrist.

Hope this helps someone.

so my rx was rejected and when i follow that link to zeiss above still rejected. i can't see well enough without glasses and i have an eye condition that doesn't allow contacts. my zeiss order was cancelled, so i guess i can show up and see if i can do it without the glasses or i can just cancel my entire order.

i haven't decided what to do yet.

I don't see how that's possible or why it's necessary.
Trying to wrap my head around this.

You have to pair the optical inserts with your AVP?

The primary method to interact with AVP is high precision eye tracking. The optical inserts place a wild variety of differently focused optics (some are magnifiers, some are the opposite, some have astigmatism correction etc) in between the eye tracking system and your eyes.

The pairing calibrates the eye tracking sensors to expect the exact distortion/correction that your particular optical inserts provide. I think it's reasonable, but it will be crazy if this is locked down forever.

Zeiss will be the sole approved optical insert provider for launch but I can't imagine it will be like this forever.

Anyone who has been requested to add date of birth to the prescription, did you add it yourself?

Did you request that the optometrist or ophthalmologist add a date of birth (if sent a PDF prescription). Were any of these accepted by Zeiss?

I've been receiving my Rx for years and never had DOB entered. Wondering if I can just include it on the PDF I have and send it in.

I added it myself. See post #129.

Anyone getting a null delivery date after the prescription is verified? I have a progressives prescription and guessing that's why. It said 2/2 delivery ETA when I ordered.

Zeiss has responded within hours to my prescription uploads.

The first was rejected saying that I needed my prescribers' license.

2nd was accepted when I uploaded it again after hand writing the NPI number.

DOB is not on the prescription.

Since I was denied because they don’t support my prescription it’s looking more and more that I’m going to have to return this. Never seen a product so consumer unfriendly

I wear Walgreens 1.25x and 1.5x. 1.5 seems about right. I notice they come in odd sizes .75 to 1.25 and 1.5 to 1.75. Should I go with the 1.5 to 1.75?

Thanks

I'm kind of in a pickle here. Like many others, I want to see how the AVP will fit my workflow during those initial 14 days -- this means I ordered without prescription inserts, intending to use contacts for the time being. However, if I want to keep the AVP, that means I'll need to purchase the insert ($149 - fine) but another $199 for a new light seal too? Seems really inflexible to make the light seal so un-adjustable. (and also means I'd need different light seals if I'm using contacts vs. glasses?)

Have you considered the strong possibility that what you assume and wish Apple could have done wouldn't be possible? I'm sure it would be much easier for Apple to make one light seal for everyone. But they didn't because most likely it couldn't be done. I wish people would stop blaming Apple for not doing whatever to accommodate their "special" needs.

Anyone know if the prescription lenses can be returned, then, if the AVP doesn't work out for me? I still fully intend to keep it, but if it begins to sit there to gather dust like my Quest headsets...

Since they are custom I tend to doubt it but haven’t heard

Anyone else waiting for prescription review still? I ordered Friday morning and haven’t heard anything yet

You should be able to exchange your light seal within the 14 days. Technically you could just return the whole AVP and get a new one, but probably better for them to just exchange the light seal.

Anyone have a phone number to call Zeiss? I keep uploading the prescription and they keep sending me messages they can’t read it.

I was suggested a different light seal as well when I added the lenses at a later time. Im just going to see how the Light Seal works that comes with my VP before worrying about it. It very well my work just fine without the need to spend another $200 for an additional Light Seal.

Having to use a different seal with inserts appears to be standard. It's unclear why, but people are guessing that the thickness of the inserts requires a different seal. Or perhaps your eyes need to be within a certain optical distance.
