Conservatives hate hate hate poor people. Helping poor people is considered a "handout" and they've done a good job convincing the American people of that.

The truth is if you're not in the 1%, Republicans don't care about you.

That is not actually true. I have many conservative friends who will give you the shirt off their backs if you need it. However, many have the philosophy of helping a person help themselves, not just giving a person a handout. It's the old teach a man to fish adage that many live by but for some strange reason liberals immediately say they don't like poor people?

Because it's an over simplification of a complicated issue. It's also a sad excuse that keeps poor people poor.

Let's take the Pell Grant for example. The $5000 grant is given to those in need for college. That $5000 can change a person's life and is the difference between staying poor and being middle class. If a student is born into a poor family, it's very difficult for that student to pay for college. So this is considered a hand out.

On the other side of the pond, millionaires and billionaires are getting huge tax breaks saving them $200,000-$300,000. Somehow this isn't considered a handout?

Every tax break the rich get, the poor people pay for. Somehow it's ok for money from poor people to go to the rich, but when money from the rich goes to the poor, it's a handout.

Utter lunacy.

Guess what, the rich people are the job creators. What you are basically saying is that the government should redistribute their wealth. So what would be the point in them becoming rich if they knew their money was going to be taken from them? That's an entitlement attitude which will pretty much crash the economy at some point.

If you don't like rich people, fine, but instead of complaining about it, get up off your ass and become rich yourself. What is stopping you? Oh wait, its probably because you keep wasting your time on sites like this complaining about it.

It's a symbiotic relationship. Businesses cannot succeed without a workforce. A workforce cannot be skilled without education.

An entitlement attitude? The irony and hypocrisy of your logic.

Guess what? Those billionaires sleep just fine paying the taxes they do now. They don't need another handout.

What's interesting is that the poster we're responding to is making assumptions about our wealth. That's ignorant, no? I know plenty of wealthy retirees who spend a lot of time online. As for "whining" - I'm also pretty sure that Warren Buffet complained that he was under-taxed and that the system should be fixed. Trump himself said that Hillary/Obama/etc did nothing to fix the system and that he was going to do it. Funny huh?

Of course, because you don't have as much money as they do. That suggest you are jealous of their situation and unable to deal with your own failures.

It's VERY easy to assume you are not a billionaire or even a millionaire because you sure as hell wouldn't be here using up your time complaining about how rich people have it made.

Thank for for confirming your ignorance. Your behavior is also troll-like. It's definitely baiting. You should consider another strategy.

What does that have to do with the rich not needing a handout? They're doing just fine now. They don't need tax cuts.

You're suggesting they need a handout, I'm saying they don't. Get it?

There seams to be a lot of people on here that don't understand that the law that was repealed hasn't gone into effect yet, nor do they understand SSL, nor the "black boxes" that are installed at all ISPs, nor that other laws are in place to protect you.

Just a bunch of mindless rants...

We need an Amen, Glory Hallelujah, and a Preach it Brother button... ;)

Easy. We are educated, hold nice paying jobs, are not brainwashed, nor do we get are news from left wing outlets. We also understand statistics and don't make knee jerk reactions to exceptions to the rule.

-10, should be you're a terrible person, not your. While you're at it, work on your capitalization skills.

Easy. More energy independence. Stop buying energy from counties that support pedophilia, raping and mistreatment of women, tossing gays off of tall buildings, killing of innocent people, and ****ing goats and camels.

We have another winner. Yippie!!!
So you seriously think that using oil/coal/other non renewables, and screwing up the environment even more is the answer? think again. The future is solar/wind. Trying to hang onto the "good old days" isn't helping anyone. It's time to modernize and move on to better things.

Guess what, the rich people are the job creators.

Yes, they are doing quite well at creating jobs in China at sweat-shop rates. ;)

What you are basically saying is that the government should redistribute their wealth.

No, what we're trying to get across is that a business doesn't work all on its own and a 'good' (as in ethical) business owner shares the pie, not eating it all himself and letting the workers pick the crumbs off the floor. You act like people like Tim Cook do all the work and make everything themselves and sell it themselves like a small business owner when in fact, they parade around in corporate jets and do almost no physical 'labor' what-so-ever. Yeah, they have it rough so they deserve 10,000x what an average Apple employee makes. That percentage just keeps going up year after year, decade after decade while they do their damned best to pay even less and less to the average worker.

Yet when the average worker strikes to get higher wages, you call that wealth redistribution, but when a corporation lobbies to get more tax breaks (so profits end up in the top brass and shareholders pockets) you DON'T call that wealth redistribution WHEN IT BLOODY WELL IS. You are taking taxes that would pay for everything from military to infrastructure improvements and putting it in people's pockets that don't REMOTELY need that money to survive while the same damn people are putting people out of work in Illinois so they can move the jobs to Mexico and pay pennies on the peso and make even MORE money. That's not "evil". It's just "smart business". And people wonder why some of us think there MUST be a "hell" somewhere for people like that. "Legal" isn't the question since laws can be changed. MORAL and ETHICAL are the words that find the failure.

So what would be the point in them becoming rich if they knew their money was going to be taken from them?

What makes it "THEIR MONEY" exactly? Ownership implies entitlement to ALL the profits in your mind? More profit doesn't imply more taxes? I find it funny how so many rich people and rich wannabes think that paying MORE TAXES (as in the total compared to someone who makes far less) means they should get tax breaks rather than looking at something called a PERCENTAGE. There's also this little indicator of monetary problems called costs of living and someone making $200,000 a year probably isn't suffering too much or doing without basic needs compared to someone making $15,000 a year. Anything extra is pure luxury or money in the bank to the $200k guy while $20,000 a year might mean the other guy gets to actually meet his caloric intake for the day without having to choose between a prescription, his child's new glasses and buying food.

Yes, when it's the poor or middle class, any pay increases or tax refunds are "Entitlements" while tax increases for the rich are "wealth redistribution" but when it's the RICH getting MASSIVE TAX BREAKS, it's nothing of the sort! It's a LINE OF UTTER BULL FECES but so-called "Conservatives" like to play word games. I guess it's what they tell themselves to try and ward off any of those bad feelings a "normal" human being gets when they do something utterly WRONG. You know some might call it a conscience and feelings of GUILT at being a human Piece of GARBAGE for stealing from the poor to pay for an even more lavish lifestyle. But no, they play this "give a man a fish" game where they pretend they are fracking THIEVES by lobbying for giant tax cuts that amount to making the poor or middle class pay for it instead and/or selling debt to someone like China so that our grandchildren have to deal with it instead. Either way, it's just god damned fracking WRONG. How many fracking Ferraris, Cadillacs and Lexus vehicles does one person need? How many mansions do they need to have here or in the Caribbean? It's not a question of life. It's a question of how much luxury and petty whims to buy anything that suits their fancy or just say they have more wealth now than Warren Buffett. When taxes were through the roof for the top class at over 90%, there were still millionaires in this country! I'm sure they really SUFFERED A LOT during those years!

That's an entitlement attitude which will pretty much crash the economy at some point.

Yeah, I agree. The rich constantly trying to cut their taxes and thus greatly raising the national debt WILL crash the economy at some point!

If you don't like rich people, fine, but instead of complaining about it, get up off your ass and become rich yourself. What is stopping you? Oh wait, its probably because you keep wasting your time on sites like this complaining about it.

You don't fracking get it. If I have to STEAL from the poor to become rich or get some criminal off murder charges at $5000 an hour to become rich, I don't WANT to become rich. If becoming rich means becoming an ethical piece of human trash, I don't WANT to become rich. What I want is for the rich to pay their god damned FAIR SHARE in this world instead of constantly trying to weasel their way out of taxes and fair wages so they can become ridiculously richer when they sure as hell don't need it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
