Which storage you will pick for the iPhone X

OP's pricing is likely correct, and that's a bargain compared to the competition's products. If an exploding phone you can't take on planes is worth $800, if a phone released by a company that didn't exist one year ago (and may not exist next week) is worth $650, the iPhone X is worth FAR more than $1000.

But do get ready for the press cycle, "flood victims dying in Texas while Apple charges $1000 for phone" and similar.

This is fun to read, and I'm as anxious to see the new releases as anyone else, but I'll be keeping my 6s for another year or two, so it's just entertainment for me.

There are quite a few pricing threads for the new iPhone. But what it really comes down to, if somebody chooses to purchase the new iPhone based on what they can afford and what they actually want (Versus Need). Apple can charge XYZ for the new iPhone 8, but it's all dependent On certain factors.

If the AR apps take up a lot of space and 4K videos and the higher quality camera end up taking up a lot more space... 256GB may makes sense.

Because if you can't use the extra 128GB it's the same as torching a $100 bill. I have a 128GB iPhone 7 and I'm barely at 70GB. I have over 100 apps and a ton of pictures on it. I'm very "safe" with 128GB. Surely I can find something actually useful to me to buy for that $100.

If you are looking to pick up last year's model then you were never in the market for the flagship model anyway. It's like a Chevy Impala owner saying he's going to skip the new Cadillac CT6 release. As-if.

I use my phone for business. I travel with it all over the world. I rely on it, a lot.

There is a limit to what I am willing to accept. I buy luxury cars, for example, but if I were looking for an Audi and Audi arbitrarily raised the price of their A6 by 30% only because they can, I would probably buy another car as well. The point is that Apple is pushing this too far and as a consumer I will push back.

Plus, the reasons to upgrade each year are fewer and fewer each year... It's starting to feel like a waste.

Lmfao, so you expect the OLED iPhone to cost less than a 7S+?

It will start at $999 and you’re in for a disappointment.

You must be expertly familiar with the cost of components. You sound like a blind sheep just jumping at his master's latest offerings. Samsung has been cranking out AMOLED displays for years and their headsets sell at competitive prices. If Apple catching up to Samsung in terms of the display technology they use makes you jump for the wallet, be my guest. It's a free country :)

But, I happen to know a few things about consumer behavior and price elasticity is very much present in consumer electronics, as with any other commodity. I am sure Apple has this figured out, no doubt. They will likely have another model to fill the gap, but if the price of the flagship rises to $1000, sales figures will certainly be lower and Apple may be prepared to compensate by having higher margins. There is market equilibrium and it can be calculated with pretty good accuracy given enough data. They have probably studied the market extensively to understand how to price the new device. Shareholders will be pleased, for sure.

Anyway... Some consumers, myself included, will buy something else. Simple economics.

Why people need so much storage on iphone for ????

64 is enough for me ...

iphone just for call and txt sms and photo is not for something data keep

and iphone release every single yrs .......

Agree, if I was Tim Cook, that's what I would do.

Also the number 8 is the lucky number in China and China is their biggest market. Sales over there have been declining and they would definitevely want to get their marketshare back.
Not final until next Tuesday, it's all speculation up until that point. Also don't say things like no more discussion needed to guess the price, you don't control what people can talk about, if your not happy with what's being discussed simply move along!
Another interesting leak from this Benjamin Geskin :-

I still can't believe they are releasing 7s styled phones with bezels and not just all "X" editions. Unreal.
I agree. Especially with the possible inclusion of the 7S Plus, which will only carry a slightly lower price tag than the “X”. I mean, it’s nice to have choices, but this is an odd lineup. Why would anyone buy the 7S plus?

If that price structure is correct the iPhone 8 really isn't that much more when compared to the cost of last years iPhone 7 Plus:

Last year i paid £819 for 128GB iPhone 7 Plus if the iPhone 8 is $999, in the U.K it will likely be around £969 which is less than a £200 increase, for the OLED screen, better camera (they always make them better) 3D facial recognition system, new design with no home button, glass back with wireless charging, plus anything else that we possibly don't/won't know about until next Tuesday's keynote. At this price i will definitely pick up a 128GB iPhone 8/Edition.

That’s pretty logical pricing structure, though it does set up the 7S+ as the best offering if the only missing feature is the OLED display and you keep Touch ID.

I mean, that's been the structure since the iPhone 6, so it's nothing surprising (barring 6S Plus -> 7 Plus $20 increase for camera upgrade). I do wonder if they'll dial-back the 7 Plus camera charge to bring the Plus line back to the 749 price point, but highly doubt that.

Only real question remaining is the iPhone 8/X. Even at this point, we are pretty confident it will start somewhere between 899 - 999, but unsure as to how many storage capacities will be offered and where the price point maxes out.

I still think the price is gonna be a bit lower 900 to 950 dollars for entry level iPhone X. 4th year more or less same design and lot of same internals of Iphone 6,6s,7,8 has got to mean that they can decrease the prices on those new iPhone 7s/8 phones by 50-100 dollars which I think makes sense and in turn makes the 900-950 price point of iPhone X possible.

But knowing Apple it's probably gonna be 1000 dollars for 64GB :(

People keep saying this. What really are you expecting from your phone? A thermonuclear reactor inside or a toaster or a rocket to go to mars?! I mean really, what "internal" changes do you want?

??? What I mean and say is that because it's 4th year, costs of those components is lower because of the fixed costs which are negligible at this point, which could mean that the iphone 8 and 8+ get cheaper...

I'm not saying anything other than that and you really shouldn't read anything more than that in it (I really don't know how you read what you accuse me from in my reaction, maybe up your English...).
