It appears Apple Music is down too. Just keep getting “resource unavailable” when trying to stream a song.

My Apple Card interactions have always felt professional until this.
I had difficulty making a payment last night (card.apple.com wouldn’t even let me log in), and I suspect my pending payment actually went through as iOS 15.01 installed today.
Chat support basically threw their hands up.

Relax peeps. I remember when I bought my Power Mac 7100/80av in 1994, it was DOA and I had to get a replacement. Apple hasn't changed, the expectations have.
No, they changed for the better.

And then for the worse.

The Apple that people love wasn't even really Apple.

It was the next version of NeXT. NeXT as a consumer electronics company that went by the name Apple.

Steve Jobs came back and brought brilliant software engineers with him.

If you look at those early keynotes they talked about reliability and software quality endlessly.

A lot of those people are long gone.

I've spent all day trying to import photos from my iPhone. Again.

Terminal hacks. Still a mess. I have a headache.

I miss the "Jaime Saves Christmas" days.

Problem: no one is scared of Tim, like they were of Steve.
Are people scared of Jeff Bezos?
Yesterday had a somewhat similar bug where, for an hour or two I could not log into my Blink account, and the system that's supposed to send me a 2-factor code was so overwhelmed the code(s) (about ten of them, given my repeated "If you didn't get a code click here" pressings) all arrived in a bunch about 90 minute later....

We have a perfect storm of constantly new systems (on server and client side), distributed responsibility, and massive technical debt. It's amazing that anything works at all. Honestly I think we ALL wish every company involved would just pause for two years to fix their damn bugs, pay off their technical debt, remove ten years of accumulated "XXX fix me"'s throughout the code, etc etc.

I've had some great fun with my Apple Card today being used fraudulently for online Chipotle orders. Maybe this is why their fraud systems didn't auto detect this and stop it after the 7th!!!! charge? Fortunately, I was able to change my number in the app and then it stopped but card support is unable to do anything about the charges because of the outage.

At least you got the 1% LOL

FYI...this has been happening at least since Wed. I had to request a replacement physical card and received the error message. Talked to 6 different agents so far (3 Apple, 3 Goldman) and none of them have had any clue. Sent an email to Tim last night informing him that this type of screw up is becoming all too common. The execs he has put in place over some of these programs are unable to effectively lead people and this is the result.

You have some rose tinted googles on for the halcyon days of Steves return. It wasn't as good as you remember.

You can take comfort in the fact that your Apple Card is not being affected by this outage. 😁

WTF is happening to Apple? They are fast becoming no different than the other tech companies. If they start going down hill in the build quality and reliability of their products there will be no justification for their high price premium.
Er… Apple are just the fall guys here.

I have a British Airways credit card, but I don’t suppose for one second that said airline has much to do with payment capture.

Been using mine since day 1, just got a ATV 4K today, made a payment too. No problems. Not to say that that anything to do with computers and the internet is ever error free.

Apple Card really is a winner and super secure. Pre-orders 2 weeks ago was a dumpster fire and today asked where the points were and they said it’s still in the works. And then another outage. Great work Goldman and Apple! Perhaps Apple Card 2.0 will have this patched?

This stuff is complex.

You did remember to plug it into the power outlet, ya? 🤣

Apple products are exceptionally reliable, in the grand scheme of things, but the sheer complexity has increased 1000-fold. I give Apple credit for not having more problems!

I run all my expenses for a family of 7 on my Apple Card and I have since day 1. I have never had any issue whatsoever.

Companies REALLY need to stop using the cop-out of "longer than expected wait times" or "higher than normal call volume". A 60 minute wait on a chat... that's too long. I'm suprised they don't have more ML-driven chat support in place.
