Here's the (Product) Red band with my SS AW and a sweater that I would call maybe Flag Red to show the color off better (taken mid morning today in my car). Also adding a photo of the band taken indoors at a restaurant under incandescent lighting (kind of balances out the yellow look with that same sweater on).

Hubby picked up the (Product) Red for me for Valentine's Day and gave it to me last night. Now that it's daytime, I can see that the Product Red's color can look different with different lighting. Still like it but it's not a cherry or flag red but more of a tomato red (with more yellow maybe?). Definitely have some red or red accent clothing that looks better with it than others that have more of a blue tone to it.

BTW does anyone know what the (Product) naming is suppose to represent? Curious.

Oh, thanks. Didn't realize the contribution amount was 50%. That's nice. I was aware part of the money generated went to the HIV/AIDS campaign. Just not why Apple chose "Product" as opposed to some other term or simply call it the (RED) Apple Sport Band. Interestingly the red I see on the (RED) site is more what I'd call flag red than the color of the Apple band.

also it's nowhere near 50%. it's 50% of the profits, and whether apple even gives that much is debatable (the early product red ipods are generally thought to have had a $10 contribution for each sold).

they've made the biggest contributions to the fund by far, but remember it's *profit sharing*, apple still makes money on it too.

You see (PRODUCT) Red instead of (APPLE) Red because Steve didn't want the Apple name to be "tarnished" by any modifier. Look at the other companies supporting the Red movement and you will see their name sorrounded by ().

Beats also did product red before being bought by Apple, I believe?

Also Microsoft did product red not (Microsoft) red versions of Windows.

It's not only Apple.
