I could see Apple making a slightly thicker version of the 13.6" MacBook Air to accommodate a fan for active cooling. What might be ideal - a thermally-cooled, updated 13" Pro with an M3 chip - a new low end 'Pro'.
Kill the touch bar?
Kill the notch?
Especially since production of M2 chips has been reportedly slashed significantly. No way Apple releasing M2 Air again. I think it will either be M2s or M3 MacBook Air. I find it hard to believe Apple releasing the same Mac with the same chip.
But the question has to be is your Apple Wallet ready? That's all Tim Cook cares about. My body is ready.
I'd take a 15" M1 MBA
Even better is if it releases with the M3.I think an early summer release for 15" MacBook Air. Just in time for Apple's back-to-school promo too.
If only they'd move away from the "SD card reader = Pro" idea.I'm glad that Apple is moving away from "large = Pro". With larger phones much more popular than smaller ones, it's clear that some people want more screen real estate but don't need all the higher-end internals.
I'd prefer the new 15" MBA is released a month or two later with M3, versus now with the M2. M3 is overkill for my uses, but it will last much longer before replacement with a faster processor (not to mention, the smaller die size should give some great battery life gains, which I'm more interested in).Ready to order a brand new MacBook Air 15" in Midnight! Let's go!!!
I was hoping MacBook Air 15" would be released in April but WWDC 2023 is less than two months away. Hopefully, Apple releases it on the same day when WWDC 2023 is held.
My 2015 Macbook Pro 15" (the one with all the ports) is 4.5 pounds / 2 kg.13" MBA is 2.7 pounds (1.24 kg)
14" MBP (M2 Pro) is 3.5 pounds (1.60 kg)
16" MBP (M2 Pro) is 4.7 pounds 2.15 kg)
A 15" MBA will weigh just as much as a 14" MBP (M2 Pro), or slightly more. And dimensions will be bigger.
Apple should remove the notch and turn it into Dynamic Island instead.remove the notch... please...
