They have a history of supporting older iOS versions with minor updates, just like on macOSI don't think Apple will use that as an argument.

I see it more that the product itself wouldn’t have been enough to carry its own keynote, though we did get a short demo video from Craig himself.
Right. We've seen this pattern before, though: them doing press releases for a bunch of (relatively) minor products a week or two before WWDC, so that WWDC itself can be focused on something different.
So if they want to introduce, say, a new iPad Air now, that wouldn't be unprecedented at all. A flagship Watch seems less plausible to me, unless their iPhone presentation is jam-packed (which… maybe? four models, AirPods Studio, AirTags? might not leave enough for the Watch).
Sorry Tim Cook, didn't recognise your Mac Rumors username. I am so glad you put to use your MBA from Dukes, and your BS from Auburn too great use. 😜If the iPhone is delayed due to supply issues, makes little sense to delay the other product releases along with it. You don’t need to have the latest iPhone in order to use the newest Apple Watch anyways.
except he really doesn't, anyone remember the Pixel 3 "ultra", "iPhoneOS"... he claims he's playing a character on FPT's youtube channel but... I'm pretty sure that's just him. Loud, obnoxious, and not always right.
The iPad Pro is a flag ship product. They announced it at an event in 2015, 2016, 2017, and 2018. So why, oh why, did they announce it over press release in March 2020?Yeah, EXACTLY. That's why they always hold an event in September to announce new iPhones and Apple Watches, because it
and they don't release flagships through a press release. (And no, the iPhone SE is not a flagship)
iOS 13.6 and 13.7 we’re not normal releases. They were releases to coincide with updates to the COVID 19 tracking software. That’s not something that Apple controls, they were just trying to keep their software in line with what’s going on.Yeah, but that only applies to phones that don't support the current version. And all phones running iOS 13 can run iOS 14.
But there was a rumored March 31 event, from several super reliable Leakers, where they would announce these new iPad pros, new MacBook airs, iPhone SE, magic keyboard, air tags, and in Apple TV update. Obviously this didn’t happen, because everything shut down in March.I see it more that the product itself wouldn’t have been enough to carry its own keynote, though we did get a short demo video from Craig himself.
Yeah. And it also doesn’t make sense to keep the watch out of stock until late September to early October. What are they going to do, not have any Apple Watch sales in September? No. That’s absolutely ridiculous. If the iPhone is delayed due to supply issues, makes little sense to delay the other product releases along with it. Exactly. Why am I the only one talking about this. All the signs are pointing to a watch update being within the next couple days. Not just Jon, but from Apple themselves. All of the watch’s going out of stock, iOS 14 beta testing ramping up closer to release, iPads and iPad airs shipping times slipping.Could Apple really afford to run out of Apple Watch stock for more than a week? What would be the questions asked by stockholders during the next earnings call?
Why? At WWDC 2017, we got new MacBooks, new IMAX, iMac pros, iPad pros, and the HomePod. Please explain to me why Apple wouldn’t announce all of these products at the same event, despite the fact that they’ve done it before.Pandemic aside, the idea that there would be an event with such a broad selection of products strikes me as unlikely.
I do hope Apple have someone who views these forums, there clearly is some highly wired individuals desperate to part with their cash, no doubt they could assess their inventory requirements based on the amount of people that have posted in simply this thread.

It isn’t happening today. It is a holiday in the U.S.It’s 9AM EST. So what now??? Anxiously waiting for an update 😂 itching for a new iPad

hmmmmm... let’s think about this.
Oh yeah, because it was a tiny speck bump in the middle of a pandemic.
And what is the watch series 6 rumored to be?
A tiny spec bump, in the middle of a pandemic.
So what doesn’t make sense to you?
We are in the middle of a pandemic, and apple has a lot of things to announce. It completely makes sense for them to announce some minor things before the event. They have done it before. In May 2019, they announced MacBook Pro updates, and a new iPod touch just two weeks before WWDC. They could have waited, and just announce them at the event, but no. They were not important enough. Now usually, if 2020 were a normal year, the watch would be important enough for an event.
But 2020 isn’t normal, and there’s no September event, and there’s no press at the event at all. So for them to just slap this tiny update on the website makes sense. They’re going to save that iPhone, AirPods Studio, AirTags, HomePod mini, and ARM mac for an October event.
