This guy on Twitter replying to Mark has a point.
Any other year, this would have a very simple solution. Split it into two events. September for iPhones, watches, and iPads. October for everything else. But 2020 isn’t a normal year, so it makes complete sense to announce smaller things like the watches and the iPads this month, and announce all the bigger stuff next month.
The new watch is going to look exactly the same as the series 5, the new bass iPad will probably look identical to the current one, and the iPad Air is just recycled 11 inch iPad Pro design. None of those things really need to be introduced on stage, or on a live stream.
Meanwhile, 4 new iPhones with complete new designs, over ear AirPods studios, air tags which is a completely new product, a smaller HomePod, and the first Mac with an Apple processor in it are all things that make sense to announce at an event.
I wouldn’t be surprised to see two more small things announced via website refresh, an Apple TV update, and a new 16 inch MacBook Pro with 10th gen Intel processors
