A 12.9" iPad Pro should have the best cameras. Especially for close picture-taking.

I have an LTE 12.9" iPad Pro with Apple Pencil. The cameras should be better. E.g. Taking pictures of documents or other work should be much better. Closer shots should be more focused and clearer.

Apple Pencil currently doesn't do anything if I tap the top end. Maybe tapping this part could automatically take a screen shot and go into edit mode of whatever I am looking at on the screen.

"have a similar design as the AirPods Pro"...
Does that mean they will have the supremely uncorfortable rubber thing that gets pushed into the ear-canal?
No, Apple has two “lines” of AurPods, one without ANC, aka regular AirPods, and one with ANC, AirPods Pro.

Apple is launching them at separate times to make everyone switch to these because the sound drivers will be superior over all AirPods(except Max).

Then in late 2021, or sometime in 2022, Apple will do AirPods Pro “2” with silicone tips, even better ANC, and also improved sound.

I’d much rather have the top of the pencil be a second tool (which would typically be used as an eraser). Desperately miss that from my Wacom.

The iPad 12 inch (maybe not this year but I hope it is) will probably be the first iPad to run Mac OS apps. Technically it should be able to run the Mac OS entirely but maybe Apple will run Mac Apps in their own window where you see the menu bar only in those apps and the Finder will be replaced with the built in iPad files app. Either way this would be awesome. Apple needs to find a way to get the iPad developers to develop cross platform apps so that they can grow the number of native apps on apple silicon. Adding the ability to run Mac Apps on an iPad would help that along. And you'll need the bigger screen to pull that off. It probably wont be coming to all iPads ever. What would happen is that universal apps would be ones that can install on any of their devices and run the one formated for the correct device. If its a 12 inch iPad it would run the full MacOS version, if it's a smaller iPad it would run the mobile version only.
If Apple let’s iPads run MacOS or even just MacOS apps then they will cannibalize sales of future Apple silicon Macs.

If iPads ever run MacOS then it’ll only be many years after selling us millions of Apple silicon MacBooks, iMacs, Mac Pros.

The separation between MacBooks and iPads is very real for the consumer but very arbitrary when looking at iPad Pro hardware: Allowing iPads to run any part of MacOS or any MacOS apps would only serve to underline how ridiculous this separation is.

Giving any of the Pro lineups two size choices is always the way to go and I don’t see Apple ever dropping that strategy ever. iPad Pro is no exception.

I highly doubt that. MacOS is used with a mouse and therefore has much smaller and more detailed GUI elements. These would be pretty hard to use with your finger (even with the magic trackpad).

All of this sounds great. But personally first I want iOS 14.5 because all my devices that are new have been quite gimped by iOS 14 in general. They feel like they're 5 year old devices with all the bugs, lag and stuttering.

And a new Apple TV is about 2 years overdue. The remote is terrible and the guts are using 3 year old tech.

New devices are running slowly because they are running ios 14? That experience seems to differ from what the rest of the world is saying.

I hope Kang is wrong about the gen 2 AirPods getting discontinued. It would be nice to have them available in the $100ish range. With the lightning charging case of course.

IpadOS can also be used with mouse & trackpad.

I would hope that Apple won't forget to update the 11 inch with the same specs as the 12.9. If they launch the 12.9 first it would be fine but differentiating the two models, in any other way that the screen size makes no sense and would only alienate people who want a smaller Pro and don't want the Air.

All I can say is prepare to be alienated.

I think I'm ready to ditch the MacBook Air and 11-inch iPad Pro (1st gen) and only go with the larger iPad Pro.
I made a similar assimilation a couple years ago. The only regret I have is not doing it sooner. It's way nicer (at least for me).

I've heard that the 11-inch iPad Pro with the mini LED display may not arrive until early fall. As for a new AirPods Pro 2, I'm interested, but who knows when they will arrive.... 🤷‍♂️

This is the mini issue. The 12.9" should have the same camera as the rest of the devices. If a better camera can fit they should refrain from adding it to ensure all devices have the same specs.

if they don't, they won't have noise cancelling though right?

For casual use, I actually prefer my AirPods gen 1 over AirPods Pro, but I still enjoy having them for sound quality + bass improvements, and noise cancellation

But yeah, my comfort preference is no rubber thing
