That's absolutely right, but why is that saving you money?

Because I can get a 50 $ gift card for 47 EUR instead of paying 50 EUR for a 50 EUR gift card on the German store while the items itself translate to the same costs so I am saving about 3 bucks initially. You just have to make sure you "live" in a zip code with no tax in the US ;) I mostly got it so I can also pay for HBO Max and Hulu via iTunes (they do not take my foreign credit card on their websites)

Has anybody found any clarification on what Apple are doing with elements of the bundle currently in a trial?

As a UK user, I’m thinking Premier. However, with a new Apple Watch purchased (for 3 months free Fitness+ when it’s out) AND an extension of Apple TV+ until Feb; what’re Apple doing about this?

I remember Joanna Stern at the WSJ getting a response from Apple to some extent, but I can’t find it.

Anyone know anything?!

You'll need to ask Apple on that one but in my experience they are pretty good at recognising and refunding produce overlap gaps... apart from my iTunes in the Cloud that I ran for 2 more years not realising that service was also included in Apple Music subscription :p
Wow. Thank you. I just realized, that I was still paying for Itunes Match which is included in Apple Music as per https://support.apple.com/HT204146

Would be better if Apple allowed you to pix and choose what services you wanted and then have an increasing discount the more services you added on I.e you take Apple Music you pay full price you add another service say Apple fitness you get a 25% discount then next one 50% discount etc and of course keep the max tier for all services at as it currently stands . That would be my thought anyhow can’t say I want Apple Arcade but would happily take 2tb cloud , music and fitness maybe news if it was super cheap to add on top

How does this work with the free trials of Apple TV, arcade, and fitness with the purchase of a new device? Will your bundle be discounted for each free trial you are part of?
^ This is a GREAT question !!!

anyone know¿ 🤓

I agree, but it’d never happen as they know the majority would likely just go for Music, iCloud Storage and maybe one other. TV+ and Arcade numbers would be well down, and News+ would continue to be an embarassing rounding error.

The 50gb iCloud storage is what personally sticks in my craw. Make it 200gb and it’d suddenly be a great deal.

I am using Apple Music, Apple TV+ and iCloud storage (200 GB), so the individual plan costs 14,99 $ and I would get Apple Arcade (which I am intending to use) but only 50 GB of iCloud storage. So … not really for me? ^^

Premier isn't available outside of English speaking countries mostly because of Fitness+ which is too bad because I don't need a localised version. I use all my services in English, watch all my content in English and speak English most of the time.

I wonder if changing your region would work for this as I was really looking forward to Fitness+.

I don’t think it’s because of language or localization. Take Apple Music 1 [formerly Beats Radio], for example. Years after its debut, it’s still in English, and—to my knowledge—localized versions weren’t made.

Apple could also have easily released subtitled or dubbed versions of their workout videos.

I’m guessing it’s a licensing constraint [like the music used] that’s still undergoing approvals or a marketing decision to launch in those countries first.

not really worth it anyway, "just" buy a new Apple Device and you get TV+ one year for free and Arcade is another 3 months trial.

I have been using an US Apple ID probably since 2008 without any problems. I usually buy gift cards online which actually saves me money because 99 $ isn't 99 EUR
Buying a new device makes no difference if you have had the free trials before. You can’t have the 12 months tv free again.

That's absolutely right, but why is that saving you money?
Because they only update the currency sign and not the actual price to reflect the area. So 14,99 dollars becomes 14,99 euros which is actually 17,50 dollars.

That isnt the point Of the bundle. The bundle is to increase uptake of the less popular stuff like News+, arcade and yes even App,e TV+ once people start having to pay for it.

think of the bundle as a cable service.

I can read ;)
200GB for a family plan is a joke. Only the Premier package makes sense... but many of us can't get it.
I dont see it as a Joke to be honest.. I have a family icloud plan already and there are 5 of us (all Adults) and only really used up 90GB odd of the 200GB available

The problem is cost structure.

Apple Arcade and Apple TV+ have fixed cost and no per unit cost. Example Apple invested $1B into both, it doesn't matter if 1 person buy it or 100M buy the services it will cost Apple the same $1B. That is why they are bundled together to give you extra "value" ( Assuming you do feel there are value in both )

Apple News+, Apple Music, iCloud all have a unit cost. The more News you read, the more Apple pays, the same goes to Music, and iCloud charged with Data. That is why they cant give you the discount you described, if you happen to pick News, Music and iCloud without Arcade or TV+ Apple will essentially be losing money on the discount.

And that is one reason I dont like these bundle and services. None of the Apple TV+, News + or Arcade are there to solve any real problem. There is no heart and soul in to it. They are there because strategically Apple needs them to be there. And trying to make something out of it. That is not what the old Apple were, which is to making something truly great. ( Or at least tries to )

I thought bundling would die off as people started to unplug their cable. I was so wrong.

They should let you mix and match what you want. For example. I already get AM with Verizon. So either let me remove the AM. And lower the price. Or give me the option to substitute AM with News etc.
