Not sure if this has been answered yet but I was paying for News, 2tb iCloud, Music and I had free Apple TV until I think May or June 2021. When I signed up for Premier package I got a $30 refund for the 3 paid services, nothing for Apple TV which I did not expect. If you already get something through another source then you will have to figure if the rest of the package is worth it or not.

In the U.K., for me, it cancelled it automatically. Only shows 2TB and not 2.2 etc. I have the option to add the extra 50, 200 etc. I didn’t cancel anything.
Same for me in the US, my 2tb storage just carried on and I got a refund for the $10 I had paid in October. I checked and I do have the option to add up to an additional 2tb more if I need it.

I wonder if Apple, even if they wanted to, could release English only versions of the apps and services in France because of the Toubon Law.

I imagine though that it's something they wouldn't consider as they pride themselves anyway on producing a fully localised user experience across all their products.

I just wanted a News and Music bundle. What is so hard about that?
Apple Arcade, the service that costs Apple almost nothing to run is what is put into every tier.
I don't want it.
At least let me swap for it.

Between my wife and I, we've used 350GB — I currently have a 2TB plan, would rather a 1TB option. But that total will continue to grow as my kids do with photos and videos.
My response was to @gomichaelgo who seem to indicate that if you could not be a family if 200GB was enough. 200GB is fine for many, some individuals will say 2TB isn't enough. I have over 9TB of space at home and use the iCloud storage for a minimal amount of items. I also have access to other storage solutions such as dropbox and OneDrive. Also, as it has been discovered by me and others, you can easily add even more storage to Apple One, as the subscription to iCloud is separate (ie I had to un subscribe from the iCloud storage feature after getting apple One).

Im in the US, my iCloud sub was not discontinued after adding apple one, I needed to go and unsubscribe. I still have 400Gb for a month because of it.

Wondering if anyone knows what happens if you try adding someone as a family member that is registered on a different Store country, for the Premier tier?

I am registered in the US Store, but lets imagine someone else I want to share it with is registered in the Germany Store.

Would this even be possible?

All members AppleIDs must be registered in the same country.

Thank you for the quick reply, really appreciate it!

Since I never used Family Sharing, and not at all informed about it, would you be so kind to let me know what exactly gets shared, besides the services on Apple One?

Do other Family Members see what is on my iCloud folders, for example?

Or do they see what Music I am listing too? What Newspaper I am reading or have bookmarked?

Thanks!

You’ll find it all explained here

Thanks! Was actually just reading that after a Google search.

The only thing now holding me back is the Shared Payment?

Is there no way that other members will be forced to use their own payment method? Makes sense that the Apple One Premier membership gets billed to one single card, but if someone from the group of 6 people wants to buy something else, like a paid app, shouldn't they be forced to use their own card/apple store credit for that? Is it possible to enforce it?

Family sharing is really meant for one household which is why it’s that way.
The only way around it is for the other family members to load up their accounts with iTunes gift card credit as funds will be taken from existing credit before it takes from the account managers card.

Purchase sharing isn't required. I don't have it turned on in my plan and other users are able maintain their own payment account.

From Apple's support page: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201079

If you don't want to pay for purchases of a specific adult family member, you can remove them from your family group or turn off purchase sharing for everyone.

Nice! Thank you for that.

Then, with Purchase Sharing turned OFF for everyone, this means all members in the group will have to use their own payment method (card or credit) whenever they want to get paid apps or in app purchases, correct?

Yep, that's how it is for me. I'm the family organizer and disabled Purchase Sharing before sharing anything else. All other family members don't even see my payment methods as an option.
