The premier pricing in the UK is weirdly high compared to the lower tiers and costs of the individual items. Distorted by the 2tb iCloud storage plan actually being quite good value in the UK compared to the US. But it means the total value proposition is just not there.
I pay £15 per month for Apple Music and £7 for 2tb iCloud. I'm not that bothered about the other things but would pay a little extra a month to get them. Not £8 though.
Would be better if Apple allowed you to pix and choose what services you wanted and then have an increasing discount the more services you added on I.e you take Apple Music you pay full price you add another service say Apple fitness you get a 25% discount then next one 50% discount etc and of course keep the max tier for all services at as it currently stands . That would be my thought anyhow can’t say I want Apple Arcade but would happily take 2tb cloud , music and fitness maybe news if it was super cheap to add on top
They should let you mix and match what you want. For example. I already get AM with Verizon. So either let me remove the AM. And lower the price. Or give me the option to substitute AM with News etc.
Hard disagree from me. I feel Apple truly likes Arcade and wants it to succeed. The problem is cost structure.
Apple Arcade and Apple TV+ have fixed cost and no per unit cost. Example Apple invested $1B into both, it doesn't matter if 1 person buy it or 100M buy the services it will cost Apple the same $1B. That is why they are bundled together to give you extra "value" ( Assuming you do feel there are value in both )
Apple News+, Apple Music, iCloud all have a unit cost. The more News you read, the more Apple pays, the same goes to Music, and iCloud charged with Data. That is why they cant give you the discount you described, if you happen to pick News, Music and iCloud without Arcade or TV+ Apple will essentially be losing money on the discount.
And that is one reason I dont like these bundle and services. None of the Apple TV+, News + or Arcade are there to solve any real problem. There is no heart and soul in to it. They are there because strategically Apple needs them to be there. And trying to make something out of it. That is not what the old Apple were, which is to making something truly great. ( Or at least tries to )
Exactly my thoughts. 2TB iCloud storage is £6.99 in the UK and $9.99 in the US. So how does $29.99 for the Premier Plan in the US become £29.99 in the UK ?
The Premier Plan in the UK seems more expensive than it should be, compared to the constituent components relative pricing in the US & UK.
I'm out, for that reason.
I agree, having Apple Cash in the UK would have been really useful during this pandemic when splitting the bill with friends. Apple Card would be nice nut all my cards are in Apple Pay anyway so not sure when the Apple Card would provide in befits over what I already have.I hate it when Apple limits these services to only a couple of regions. So many examples. Apple Card, Apple News, and now these bundles are only available in 4 countries. Pathetic. Apple really needs to roll out availability to lots more regions much more quickly.
Because they only update the currency sign and not the actual price to reflect the area. So 14,99 dollars becomes 14,99 euros which is actually 17,50 dollars.
Apple Music overlap iTunes Match to some extent, but not entirely. You'll need to ask Apple on that one but in my experience they are pretty good at recognising and refunding produce overlap gaps... apart from my iTunes in the Cloud that I ran for 2 more years not realising that service was also included in Apple Music subscription![]()

Now this is interesting, I have paid for iTunes match since it was first offered. I had no idea it was included with the monthly music subscription. I still have a lot of music from years ago but things have changed so much that iTunes match is essentially useless as very few people actually download music anymore. Thank you for this, my match renews on NOV 14 and I will surely cancel it now.Wow. Thank you. I just realized, that I was still paying for Itunes Match which is included in Apple Music as per https://support.apple.com/HT204146
I already have an apply music family account and 200 gb of I could getting the $20 plan is a no brainer to pay $2 more a month for tv plus and arcadeThis will be a huge success... just like the HomePod.
They don’t just update the currency sign. VAT is included in all EU displayed prices, whereas sales tax is not included in the displayed US prices. So in a 20% VAT country that €14.99 translates to actually €11.99. Which is $14. So prices are actually lower in Europe. You just have to redirect your blame towards your government for this one.Because they only update the currency sign and not the actual price to reflect the area. So 14,99 dollars becomes 14,99 euros which is actually 17,50 dollars.
So in your estimation what is the best reason to keep iTunes match? is it that you get a DRM free copy of songs synched? I have both and as stated in an earlier post was considering canceling the Match as I no longer download music. I do have music that I add to my library from time to time if it is not available for free on Apple music.Apple Music overlap iTunes Match to some extent, but not entirely.
Songs purchased from other than iTunes and are synced using only an Apple Music subscription are DRM protected. So if you cancel Apple Music you will still loose access the these songs, unless you have the original files on the original device where they were matched.
If you have an iTunes Match subscription (with or without Apple Music) you will get a DRM-free copy of these songs, and if you Cancel iTunes match you will still have access to these songs, provided they are download to that device or synced manually.
