Is there anything in the way of getting a Family plan and just sharing it with 4 friends ?
Turn off purchase sharing before inviting them. I do not know why apple things this is a good idea but items (like movies) are only shared if purchase sharing was on when it was bought and when people want to access the bought item. Next up YOUR credit card will overwrite theirs so they can charge to it. Then if you turn off purchase sharing after they will wind up with no credit card. Whoever designed purchase sharing must hate apple and apple users.

The family plan should have introduced a 1TB iCloud plan. I'm already about to max out 200GB just by myself.
Sort of wish they would have kept iCloud separate and lowered prices since people's cloud needs vary so much regardless of the number of people. You could have one heavy people needing 1TB, and you could also have a bunch of light users that could live with 200GB for everyone.

Yes shared card without the owner approving even adult purchases is the worst thing ever. Purchase sharing should just share items, and payment sharing should be separate, and you should be able to choose who has full access, access with permission or no access period

So I guess that extended free trial of apple TV+ goes away. Previously it was extended to 2/1/21 and now that I have Apple one it’s included in the renewal on 11/30/20.
If you want to see real taunting apple gave me a 3 month trial to arcade yesterday. Apple tv was a;ready free to 2/1, my trial for apple music ends monday, and the people in my family who need icloud space plan to stick with their plans. Sure, I could have saved a bit by upping my individual apple music to family for 3 months and letting the trials run out but I would not look forward to explaining to my family what I was doing.

So I signed up to the premier but the Apple Music isn’t appearing on my girlfriend or sons account. News/Tv and arcade all are
I was on the phone to Apple about this issue, it’s because Apple music is closely intertwined to iTunes and you need to enable shared payment method / shared purchases in order to get music to work. Look under settings. Sadly this means your son can go shopping on iTunes with your card.

Apple music won’t work

Yeah, the usage for my family is all over the place. I am not sure if apple does 200/famsize for everyone or what but I wish they gave you more on the family plan and let the person who manages it says who has how much. One person wants the music but does not need icloud so could use that for people that need more space.

Yes, they can not even enter their own card when your card is active. It is like apple is holding your card hostage for daring to share stuff. I actually do not worry about the younger members of my family, both sub 18 and above, they are responsible (plus they know I could turn off sharing if they get out of control) ... I am more worried about my parents forgetting their credit card is not on there and doing something like ordering a new computer.

Apple One is a joke to me. What "family" would only need 200gb of icloud storage? They really need this to be more customizable. I personally only really would want Apple Music and iCloud storage. The rest would be fun or nice to have but not necessary. And for me, as an "individual" paying $15 per month (180 a year) sounds a little steep to me. The services are getting a bit out of control and Apple needs to figure out a better way. This is not cutting it IMO.
Yeah, that number is odd. Clearly they have never seen the average photo library size of a teenager. If you have 6 people and the space is divided equally it does not even meet their 50 GB plan.

Apple One is still not available on my device. I have checked a device of a family member and the Apple One subscription button is visible. What if I would buy a Apple One on a device of my family members?

As long as they have their own apple I.D. it's perfectly fine. The problem is you have to rely on your friend's paying their portion of the plan every month. I wouldn't recommend this at all. Friends aren't your "friends" when money is involved, especially when you are the gatekeeper responsible for the payment each month.
"Neither a borrower nor a lender be"

Apple Music family + 2tbs of storage currently individually cost less than 29.99. This is actually an increase in price for a lot of those users. I don’t need news, appletv, fitness, or arcade.

what would have been nice is if there was a way to add any Apple care plans to one bill every month.
Fortunately, you can still get the individual services, but yeah, one bill would be nice. Maybe do a bundle like "Get 2 services, get 5% off; 3 services get 7%, 4 services get 10%" or something.

If you already to subscribe to additional iCloud storage, but then subscribe to Apple One, you need to manually cancel your iCloud storage unless you need the additional storage. It does NOT cancel automatically.

Apple's new Apple One series of services bundles launches on Friday in over 100 countries and regions, but the top Premier tier will be limited to the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, and Canada.

The limited rollout of the $29.95 Premier tier is down to the fact that Apple News+ is currently only available in the above countries. Apple News+ is exclusive to the Premier tier, along with Apple Fitness+, which isn't expected to arrive until later in the year.

Here's how the Individual, Family, and Premier tiers stack up:
  • Individual: Apple Music, Apple TV+, Apple Arcade, and 50GB of iCloud storage for $14.95 per month
  • Family: Apple Music, Apple TV+, Apple Arcade, and 200GB of iCloud storage for $19.95 per month, can be shared among up to six family members
  • Premier: Apple Music, Apple TV+, Apple Arcade, Apple News+, Apple Fitness+, and 2TB of iCloud storage for $29.95 per month, can be shared among up to six family members
Apple One's Individual tier offers savings of $6 per month, while the Family plan offers savings of over $8 per month, and the Premier plan offers a savings of over $25 per month, compared to standard monthly pricing. Apple One includes a 30-day free trial for any services that customers do not already have.

Apple can blow me with these ******** attempts at bundling services for recurring income.

i was on live chat with Apple. it seems like a device issue because I signed on to the web version of Apple music with my girlfriends account and that worked but still not working on her phone.

Just try as I suggested, enable shared purchases and then launch Apple Music on her device. You can always disable afterwards however you may lose music again.

I thought this was launching yesterday in the UK...must be mistaken as still says "coming autumn" and when I log onto my US account it still says "coming fall" ......am I missing something ?

In the U.K., for me, it cancelled it automatically. Only shows 2TB and not 2.2 etc. I have the option to add the extra 50, 200 etc. I didn’t cancel anything.
