I suspect Apple One is tied to iOS 14.1 and iPhone 12, widely speculated for next Tuesday (October 13).

If you are into streaming music, Apple One can be very compelling. Pay $5/month more and get Apple Arcade, Apple TV+, and iCloud -- $11-13/month value.

I buy all my music and stream through iTunes Match ($25/year), so I am clearly not the target audience. If Apple ever decide to offer iCloud-centric Apple One, 2TB iCloud instead of Apple Music, I would be all over it.
Has anyone heard an answer to how One Pricing will work if you already have Music through another service. Like we have Music through VZW. We also have D+ through Verizon and have the D+/Hulu/E+, and Disney deducts the price of D+ off the bundle price.

Apple is literally the only service I have ever seen that stops your access immediately if you cancel your subscription. To be honest, I didn’t even know that was legal
Yea I think that's so shady. They just hope you forget to cancel. At least they still let you cancel digitally and cancel at all. SiriusXM needs to burn to the ground. They are the ones who should be illegal. I can't believe every consumer protection agency hasn't sued them by now.

First? No.

Second? Absolutely false. This is the comment of someone who has literally watched NONE of these shows. I'm not defending See as an example of a good show, but it literally had a scene where someone mastrabated as a form of prayer. That's not something you see on something PG. Please know what you're talking about before you make a comment.
That's even worse than having so much R content. At least you know what your are getting with R and can avoid it if you want. Now I'm leery of watching anything PG there. Hope Snoopy stuff stays clean

Yeah, it is. Need to redeem within 90 days of buying a new product, offer still mentioned here: https://www.apple.com/apple-tv-plus/
And did that one article state the free trial was shorter now?

The one thing that I really dislike about AppleTV+ are the previews before a show I'am about to start, I even get previews of shows I have already seen, although they have the skip button, it would much better if they didn't have them. This doesn't happen on Hulu or Netflix, don't remember about Amazon.

I must agree with several of you that the content is limited compared to other services, but I do have enjoyed Servant, Ted Lasso, The Morning Show and Trying. Amazing Stories was not that good as well as the movie Greyhound. I might try Mythic Quest and looking forward to On the Rocks and Letter to you. I don't like Oprah at all!

Of the services I subscribe to, Hulu is by far my favorite, then Netflix and AppleTV+ is tied in third to Amazon. I have ben tempted to subscribe to CBS all access as most of current CBs programs are not available anywhere else, but not for now.

Still got till April 2021 to decide if I cancel my free AppleTV+ subscription.

the new and yet to be released iPad Air 4 mentioned 12 months for free on the product page

I'm still on the fence since ATV+ has some good shows. But enough to warrant keeping the subscription? That I'm not really sure about. I'm more or less leaning towards cancelling and then renewing once the shows I want to watch are released so I can binge.

There are no PG ratings. Shows with adult content are clearly marked TV MA (mature audiences).

In most of the free subscriptions, people can cancel out just after subscribing and still get the full length of the free subscription (i.e. cancel immediately after subscribing).
Exactly, that's what I mean. That's what makes this particularly scummy and money-grubbing from Apple.

Thanks for the heads up!
the trial year was on my secondary (US) account, but currently not active on a device, so would have missed the cancellation reminder.

I've just started into Ted Lasso and it appeals to my quirky sense of humour, so I'll stick with it. Probably will become my winter exercise bike watch. Binged a good chunk of Mythic Quest and thought it was quite good.
Recommended it to my brother on his way home from work Monday night. He texted me at 4:00AM cursing me.

It's not PG content. I don't know where that's coming from.

If Apple is smart they extend the period for 6 months.
Many items, as I understand it, were postponed. The current offering isn’t worth this amount compared to Disney+ or Netflix or even competitors like NLZiet in the Netherlands.

So, what’s so smart about that? 12 months of free trial with almost nothing interesting to watch and all of a sudden in the next 6 months, well THEN these is going to be torrent or interesting content, right? Yea, doubt. Taking into consideration, how much money they have spent on ATV+, this might be the biggest failed product Apple ever released IMHO

Buy new stuff from Apple (iPhone, iPad, AppleTV, etc) , register to new appleid, add to your family and fun next free year.

I already have Apple TV+ (free 1 year) as I bought a new iPhone 11 on the iPhone upgrade program. I plan to upgrade to the iPhone 12 next week (on launch).

Are you suggesting
a) I create a new AppleID
b) Use that ID to sign in on the new iPhone 12 (once i get it)
c) Activate 1 year free Apple TV+ on the iPhone.
d) Once activated; join this ID as a family member to my existing Apple ID.

Q:Will my existing Apple TV which is signed up with my current Apple ID automatically get the 1 year Apple TV+? Or do I need to do anything specific?
Q: Once getting a free 1 year Apple TV+ and attaching account to my existing family account; can I sign out of my new iPhone 12 and sign in with my existing Apple ID (as I would need to do that to retain my contacts, calendars, iCloud, etc...) but I will still retain the 1 year free Apple TV+, because it has been activated.

Thanks...

I've tried For All Mankind, Defending Jacob, The Morning Show - they're decent shows. But given the Apple branding and spending on content deals, you would have expected it to be heads and shoulders above Amazon and Netflix. For a limited time at least, John Wick 3: Parabellum was free on Prime. Amazon is more well rounded in terms of a mix of original content, reruns, and popular movies.

I’m willing to give tv+ a chance. It’s not even a year old. Prime video is 14 years old! So, yes they are more, well rounded out as a service. It doesn’t happen over night.

Does the 12 come with 1 year free tv+?

Yes. I checked the website

... but only of you have not used the offer before !

If you have already used the 1 year Apple TV+ offer previously; it will not work.

Hence my question in the forum...

👍 As long as you both are not sharing (or have not shared in the last 12 months) a family account - it will work.
I did set that up but didn’t get around to adding the wife so it looks like it will work out.

I also noticed my auto renewal is saying 1st Feb rather than 1st Nov so I think we will take up the offer for my wife’s iPhone towards the end of the 90 day period.

This seems like a good way of doing it. Is there any drawback to doing this when I switch back to my normal AppleID on the phone in order to set it up using my backup from my XR?
