The XS Max is on its last legs in terms of software support. If people want to cling on to old obsoleted technology they can, but don't expect best-in-class experiences.
I have not experienced the bug in this thread not even once in my xs max.

Having said that I replaced the battery on my xs max last year and a good year of good service from it. It felt like a different phone going back to my OOB experience in 2018.

The max went to apple heaven as it was replaced by an iPhone 15PM. There is no comparison the max is antideluvian compared to the iPhone 15. But the max was reliable and served my well. RIP.

Or for folks who literally needs their phone on 24*7 but unable to be contacted because of this bug. Think about paramedics or firefighters.
I’m in a no service area so WiFi is needed. A block away service is pretty good. Point being in a power outage its a good possibility I may not be able to make or receive phone calls. People who need to be reachable 24x7 need a backup.

I strongly disagree with the notion that just because a device isn’t the latest it should work like garbage. Disagree isn’t even the word... I think that notion is utterly ridiculous. I expect perfection from older devices.

My Xʀ on iOS 12 is as flawless as the iPhone 15 in terms of performance with general tasks and battery life.

The Xs Max, old obsoleted technology. Very funny. I have an iPad Air 5 on iPadOS 15 (the latest model, just in case), and it isn’t as smooth as the Xʀ in many aspects.

I agree with calling the iPhone 5 obsolete, the 4s. The Xs Max? Ridiculous.

That's ludicrous.

I've got a XS Max, and I've set up 15s for clients. The 15 is marginally faster. That's it. The XS Max is FAR from obsolete, it performs nearly as well as a brand new phone for normal phone things. I suppose if I was a phone gamer I might care, but I'm just not into playing games on my phone.

Honestly, if my 6S+ ran current iOS I'd still be using it as my primary phone, it's plenty fast enough and has a real home button and a headphone jack, it's probably the best iPhone Apple ever released.
