Yea I gave up on that one. It would even re enable when u turn off and on your phone. Im sure AI does this too. So when they turn off their phones and back on they will need to turn it off. Each time

FWIW this didn't happen to me on an iPhone Pro, iPad Pro, or Mac.
Same behavior here, had the last point update on everything already. I wonder if it's the same bug if you're running an older build and jump straight to the latest.
Given the newsworthiness I'm surprised they didn't fix it, but nothing I have is affected.

The Tesla Roadster was released in 2008 and over 17 years built up some good will among their customer base and Elon has destroyed that in 5 weeks. Looks like Tim wants to beat that.
Next thing you know they will turn on Apple Care, Apple One, iCloud+ subscriptions, because as some MacRumors users here like to insist, Apple knows best, and they just want to give you the best experience.

The setting never changed on my iPhone 15. The option is there, I turned it off when first offered, the setting has never turned itself back on. I guess Apple Intelligence is sometimes not so intelligent.
That Apple may be the lesser of evils these days, as opposed to the objectively superior choice they used to be does not in any way excuse this sleazy lack of respect for users.
Maybe they intended to do it but couldn't muster the coding skill to do even that. Another thing delayed till iOS 19.
