Well, I got some bad news for those frustrated: starting with iOS 19, Apple Intelligence will be MOSTLY out of beta, and CANNOT BE TURNED OFF. Yes you won’t be able to turn it off from what I heard from industrial sources.
My DeWalt rep just told me the same thing

As many have said before, the first time, I thought it was an honest mistake. But now…

If Apple can switch things on and off on my devices at will, how can I trust their privacy promises? As a loyal customer, I’ve lost all trust in Apple in the last few weeks. This is unacceptable!

What’s next? Blocking me from typing criticism about Tim here on Macrumors by disabling my keyboard?

I think the entire implementation of 'Apple Intelligence' is a complete disaster! Everything we've seen so far feels like a buggy beta product with a horrific interface that only makes things worse. I want to turn it off—I hate how Siri activates every time I try to access Control Center or Quick Search, and the very few times I have asked Siri for something Ive found it quicker and more reliable to just do it myself manually.

It's not that it's a "problem." No one's worried about the time it takes to turn it off. It's the fact that they do it to begin with. If someone flicked a bugger in your face, it only takes a few seconds to wipe off. I still think you'd be pissed about it.

Two very different scenarios.

The good news is one can stand up and exercise their agency... by voting with their wallet.

Except once it’s downloaded, it will use up 7GB of space. Disabling it will not reclaim the space, it is there forever. The only way to remove it is to factory reset your device.

Yep... Apple iOS has a ton of features, taking up a lot of memory. Some features I'll never use, but know that many other people will use them.

I'm OK with that.

I just don't want to be part of the beta test of an OS with integrated AI. Sounds like a good way for all of my info to be harvested with another exploit.

Wonder why it enabled for some but not others? It didn't enable for me, and it didn't the previous time either?

Weird.
