So yes on my M1 iPP it turned it on. However as I have different languages for the system and for Siri it wouldn’t let me access the kill-switch. So I had to switch both to English (American), disable Apple Intelligence, then reset my languages to where I want them. FFS Apple.
Apple intelligence should be opt-in, not opt-out.
It was until they found few were opting in.

So 3 people who really did the update after turning it off and they said it is not re-enabled after this update.

So for any of you it really enabled again after the update? Or are you all in here to just complain?

It’s downright farcical now in hindsight that Apple tried to pressure the EU by delaying Apple Intelligence due to “regulatory uncertainty”.

This is being reported broadly but the WHY seems to be missing. Why some and not others. It's a thing though. I think it's possible Apple may not know why which is also troubling.

I wonder why turning that feature on bothers people so much…? The only thing that happens when you turn it on is that new UI elements appear in several places, like ‘Clean Up’ in photos, that let you access Apple Intelligence features. It doesn’t actually do anything in the background if you don’t actively engage with it 🤷‍♂️

I guarantee they’re planning to monetize it with a subscription for “premium” features. It doesn’t make much sense to keep pushing a free feature so hard (although obviously not unheard of).

Get it enabled on as many devices as possible whether people are using it or not, then they’ll start pushing the new Apple Intelligence+.

It's probably far more benign. If everyone is turning it off, they can't claim x% of users are using it every day. And with the new AI APIs that they will have for iOS 19, they want that number to be as high as possible so that developers will feel pressured to take advantage of it - which in turn will nudge people into new hardware, which increases sales, which is good for their stock price...

I've disliked Musk, based on his actions, for almost a decade now....and I hit the gym harder on a daily basis than he has in the last year.

As for this. It didn't turn back on for me.. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I thought that was painfully obvious.

-It takes up space
-It doesn't respect user decisions/ is user hostile
-It represents a dark pattern

With new iOS software updates, Apple has been automatically turning Apple Intelligence on again even for users who have disabled it, a decision that has become increasingly frustrating for those that don't want to use Apple Intelligence.
Well, I got some bad news for those frustrated: starting with iOS 19, Apple Intelligence will be MOSTLY out of beta, and CANNOT BE TURNED OFF. Yes you won’t be able to turn it off from what I heard from industrial sources.
