I got on this too- it's available online if you're already a customer. It should show as one of the plans you can switch to. I recently came back to Verizon, and I was impressed how they made my bill drop date the day I signed up, so that the first bill was just for one month plus activation, instead of the usual almost two months huge bill.
Where do you sign up for it yourself online? I can't find this when I try to select a new plan in My Verizon (only shows the S, M, L, 12GB, XL, and XXL plans). I thought that you had to speak to a rep through online chat, on the phone, or in store for them to apply it for you. If I could do it myself online I would try switching to it, but otherwise I won't bother because my sister had a Verizon rep do it and they screwed everything up.

Did you follow the link here: #1 ?

By the way, it's only for lines/plans that are single with only 1 smartphone.

Yes, but when I click on it all it does is bring me to my My Verizon main page. I try clicking Manage Plan but it is not an option. Also, I do only have one line with one smartphone. I also have AutoPay and paperless billing.

Single line on STRAIGHT TALK plan using Verizon cell tower system. No problems on 4G. Getting 10Gigs for $55 a month. Unlimited talk and text. -- blows Verizon and all other plans out of the water.

If I run low on data I just renew the $55 plan early. Effectively $110 for 20gigs per month.

For $110.00, you can get Verizon's XXL plan (24GB +2GB free each month) and that doesn't count the rollover data. That is 26GB guaranteed each month plus any possible rollover data.

And that is the full fee paid? And no adding three other fees for account charges? Can you put two phones on that with shared data 26gigs? Does Verizon have free streaming of any media source like free Netflix streaming or free pandora streaming, does not count against data limit ?

With straight talk and two accounts I can spend $110 and have two phones each with 10Gigs data. Sure I need to switch back and forth between the two. But the total dollar amount is not a bluff. $110 plus maybe two dollars in taxes.

So checked with Verizon and they offered $150 plan with 24gb. This again proving they really don't need my business. They have plenty business, and can high ball offer anyone who tries to talk to them. Oh well.

You still pay a fee per line that is connected to the plan.

The first bill is always higher since you pay the pro-rated charge for the first month, and whatever balance you had from your old plan.

I just changed to this plan on return from vacation. I just had them change at the start of the next billing cycle, so it worked well except that I was missing the $5 autopay credit. I got that fixed via chat.

For you and those above as well...Chat with a rep online and they will sign you up. I had the same issue and they said it's a glitch on their site.
No thanks - my sister did it that way and the reps screwed her account up. Tends to happen to me as well every time I do things that way. Not worth the risk and the hassle, for me anyway.

Sorry that happens to you. For me, I've always had a quick and painless experience on chat and always get things done the right way.

I called in and had no issue getting it set up. I did find it on the site the day it was announced but it wouldn't let me change plans. Found out it was because my internet service)Century Link) was bundled to it which I knew of course but that was causing the problem. So had to call them as well but got it all straightened out in under an hour and is totally worth it. 2 more GB per month, plus rollover that I did not have before and saving $10/month. Like this plan a lot. Win!

Previously I was on Verizon's cheapest postpaid single line plan of $55/mo for 2GB, but just saw this deal on Slickdeals that for the same monthly price I can now get 5gb of data so I thought I'd share for the other Verizon peeps on the forum:

https://www.verizonwireless.com/plans/5gb-for-55/
  • For single line accounts (or at least accounts with only 1 smartphone on it)
  • $40 for 5gb + $20 smartphone line fee - $5 autopay discount = $55/mo
  • Eligible for employer % discounts off the $40 data portion
  • Plan requires paperless billing to be enabled
  • Have to call CS or make the switch in store
Cheers! :)

Thank you so much for this PSA. I share an account on Verizon with my dad's iPhone and my iPad. I was able to select this new plan on the Verizon app on my iPad. Switched from the 4gb plan to the new 5gb plan and will save $8.50 more per month!!!

24 GB is $110.00 + $20.00 line fee and taxes per month.

So two lines is $40 + $110 = $150 with 24 GB. Like I said for two lines on Verizon. And tether-able.

Two lines STRAIGHT TALK $55 x 2 = $110 with each at 10 GB (20GB total). All on Verizon towers. Just can't share.

YOU CHOOSE.

How did you do it on the app? It's not an option for me. Really confused about how people are able to switch over on the website or the app, meanwhile some of us don't even have the option.

Not that I am looking to change plans....The app shows I can still get (revert) 7 GB for $50.00 (which was my original plan). I don't see the 5GB for $55 app option. I am happy with the 12GB (+2GB + carry over) for $80 plan.

I didn't. I had to chat to get it. Yes it's showing on the website, but when you click on it nothing happens. Just initiate a live chat session and tell them you want the plan and they'll set you up with it.

I was quoting the other poster. The guy said he was "able to select this new plan on the Verizon app on my iPad," so that's what I was going by. Not risking them screwing my account up by asking a rep to do it for me.

I'm gonna be saving $13+ dollar downgrading from 7gb to 5gb. changed plan through the app also..
