Maybe the glue is drying in your nostrils, you've clearly been sniffing it if you think this is the case...

Fantastic post, the best post i have read in a long time, not many posts make me laugh out loud.

Thank you.

Those upset at the warm tone are probably the same people who set their TVs to cool. Anyone who knows about screen calibration knows that you want warm, which looks yellow to the layman.

As mentioned it's not Glue and never was

It is manufacturer variance. Thats it.

In The Verge review you can see Nilays phone is clearly cooler:
https://www.theverge.com/2017/10/31/16579748/apple-iphone-x-review

In most photos I've seen the screen is cooler. This is great as I prefer cool screens.

There is no intentional Apple color calibration. The screens are whatever the vendor picks. Samsung leans cool, thus the X is cool. Cheap ass Japan Display leans yellow, so the 7 and 8 are mostly yellow.

The end.

Not sure if trolling...regardless, there is no glue issue people. Stop it!! True Tone on the X makes things very yellow unless you're under bright lights. I snapped 2 photos of my X. With True Tone off it looks perfectly neutral white. With True Tone on it looks yellow. So tell me, geniuses, does turning off True Tone on my phone somehow cause this mythical glue to instantly dry?

You need to go into settings, accessibility, display accommodations then do to reduce white point to the lowest level.

fixes the issue for me

True Tone ‘off’ drys the glue, True Tone ‘on’ melts the glue again.

I wouldn’t accept this excuse when I buy a new Mercedes and I don’t accept it from a new iPhone. This is an expensive, luxury item. I’m not a beta tester. Why would glue only show on one angle? Yes I’ll wait a week, but people have a right to be annoyed

That screen looks warmer in the middle and cooler at the top and bottom

the X changes tint as you move it so looking straight its yellow then a slight tint and its pure white its horrible :(
I would say mine was white when looking straight at it then a slight blue tint when tilting it.

This happens every iPhone launch... my screen is yellow... piss yellow... Guys, please wait a couple of days for this to naturally fade away. Every time, the glue has to dry before the screen color returns to normal.

Just had to make this PSA before the barrage of yellow screen posts start!

Same myth every year.

1. Lamination glue is 100% transparent like water, OCA, optically clear adhesive.
2. The curing of the clue requires UV light and sometimes heat. The process is 100% done after the curing in the machine.

Totally in your head and colour perception is all down to viewing conditions (lighting). One glance at your photo and the yellow lightning connector shows the colour temperature of your photo is well off neutral. Adjusting this to neutral white results in the display looking much cooler. The human eye has a poor perception of correct colour as your brain adjusts so everything looks neutral much like the when we switch the lights on at night, everything still looks as it should.

You’re right, very warm lamp in my office. But it was still warmer than it should’ve been under all lighting. I returned it and bought another one and it’s much better.
