Does anyone know where the installer file is being stored? I'm not seeing it yet under the Applications folder like past betas.

Never mind, it was hidden until the download completed.

Being able to store only recent photos and files on the machine & all of the older files in the cloud is the biggest feature I've activated. Photos took up to much hard drive space.

UPDATE: Nevermind, it doesn't seem to free up any storage. : (

UPDATE 2: Nevermind, I don't know if it's freed up any space or not. :apple:

Well some good news ... Aperture continues to work!! In fact, if anything, it seems to run a bit better than under El Capitan, although that could just be wishful thinking for me!! Several other rough edges here and there, but overall Sierra seems stable enough for part time duty.

Has anyone noticed that mounted vol icons now have size info showing on line below volume name? Don't see any setting to toggle that off.

Yes, I noticed this after the update to DP2. Also the screenshots on my desktop show their resolution in that separate line.

Edit: You can toggle it off with a secondary click on the Desktop -> Show View Options -> Show item info

Dark Mode theme doesn't apply to Notification Centre sidebar, reported that to Feedback.

Pretty sure thats intentional and not a bug. Beta 1 was the same way. It matches the iOS Notification Center.

When you go to settings to enable dark mode, it clearly states menu bar and dock.

Not quite. The filename changes until the download is completed. Whilst downloading it is in the Applications folder but is called

macOS Sierra Public Beta

After download completes it changes the name to

Install macOS Sierra Public Beta

Well, not for me. I was refreshing the Finder folder over and over during the download and it was not appearing for me. Only after the download completed, did it actually appear.

I do remember past beta's doing exactly as you described and that's why I thought it was weird that I didn't see it this time.

If anyone wants to install the beta on an external drive, preferably an SSD, all you need is a USB stick, preferably USB 3.

Format an 8 GB USB drive which should be called Untitled and formatted as Mac OS Extended (Journaled). The installer should be called Install macOS Sierra Public Beta.app and should be in your Applications folder.

Run this in terminal and wait about 20 minutes if using a USB 2 device:

Then follow these directions to put the installer on the USB drive.
Code:
sudo /Applications/Install\ macOS\ Sierra\ Public\ Beta.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia --volume /Volumes/Untitled --applicationpath /Applications/Install\ macOS\ Sierra\ Public\ Beta.app --nointeraction

After the Terminal process completes you can eject the USB drive.

You can boot up from it by selecting it from the startup manager you get when starting your computer and holding down the Option key.

I'm that case they can consider my report as a feature request. Doesn't make any sense.

Just installed it on my MacBook Air 2011, I'm having trouble shutting down, just had the cog continuesly spinning, also my webcam is not being picked up so no face time for the time being

Thanks. I looked at that before and missed it. Strange how Apple changes default settings from time to time for no known reason.

Downloaded it, but not sure I want to install it just yet. I ran betas before with no issue, but I'm just not really feeling comfortable this time around.

I'm going for it, despite swearing off of beta versions a while back.

Can't be worse then El Capitan, right?

Beta 2 has been extremely stable on my 2012 MBA. Beta one didn't run well, but this is much better.
