Just installed it on my MacBook Air 2011, I'm having trouble shutting down, just had the cog continuesly spinning, also my webcam is not being picked up so no face time for the time being
Same issue on my 2011 Air as well and I'm on the DP2 release.
Not my main laptop anymore, so I'll wait and see if Apple fixes it on the next release.

Installing on my main computer now. I have two major work deadlines this week, so if something breaks I'm gonna freak out!! Don't let me down, Apple.
I wouldn't even install to x.x.1, let alone x.x.0 FINAL if I had critical work in front of me.

You're one brave man.
Good luck!

Okay I don't care.

If you don't care, then why did you respond? I'm merely showing you that Apple does not consider it a dark mode, so there is no reason to say it doesn't make sense when its clearly written out what that checkmark does.

Maybe its just me, but it comes off as a little rude to say "I don't care" when you post a bug and someone informs you that its not actually a bug with a screenshot to back it up. I was only trying to help you out.

FYI as usual an OS update breaks Box Sync. I assumed it was coming but hoped that Box had gotten together for this announce public beta. Dropbox still works.

Is it me or is Sierra extremely fast? Not finding it nearly as buggy as El Capitan.

Disk Utility seems to be a heck of a lot better too. Still a pile of crap over the Yosemite-and-earlier versions but at least its usable now.

Is anyone else seeing unusually high temperatures?

I installed on a mid-2014 13" MBP (3ghz i7), and my cpu is sticking around 70 degrees. That's probably ~20 degrees higher than normal.

The big problem for me this time around is that my "secondary devices" (for both OS X nee macOS and iOS,) are both no longer supported! They were good for testing iOS 9 and El Capitan; but both are unsupported in the latest versions. Unsure if I want to dare putting the betas on my "daily drivers" now!

Taken the plunge and thrown caution to the wind on my second OS X El Capitan partition on a Crucial M4 SSD doing a straight upgrade to macOS 10.12 Public Beta 1 on my super charged mid-2011 21.5" iMac with 32GB RAM

As with OS X El Capitan, macOS 10.12 Public Beta 1 is fast, very fast. This is not solely down to the SSD and amount of RAM as with the same specifications OS X Yosemite performance was comparatively slow.

The upgrade was very smooth taking around 20 minutes once the download had finished. Safari 10 History is well presented and easier to navigate. HTML5 support in Safari 10 appears to be an improvement to that of Safari 9 (can't wait to do away with Flash completely)

Siri is accurate and responsive and a welcome addition to OS X (sorry macOS) "gonna take a while to get used to the name change"

Chances are not all apps will work as macOS is a major update. Although not a gamer I am a sucker for F1 2013 for Mac. It currently crashes on launch. Hopefully Feral will issue a patch to address this issue or will be remedied in future Public Beta releases. Sad I know but if not it would be the only thing to stop me from carrying out a system wide upgrade from OS X El Capitan (soon to be 10.11.6).

If you don't have a duplicate partition of your stable OS X partition then Dual Boot as taking the plunge without a fall back would be extremely risky as macOS is far more than a name change.

Not complaining, as I appreciate the upgraded features and attention to macOS—but this is the first time in awhile that I don't feel an extreme excitement and urgency to upgrade. And that's ok. But just trying to sort through why.
  1. Siri isn't something I want to use, especially around people, but we'll see if it surprises me (Siri frustrates me more than brings me joy

Can you not type Siri requests on the Mac? I guess I just assumed that would be a secondary interface as it's replacing Spotlight.

I think the single biggest feature for me, besides Siri, is the global Copy/Paste where you can copy from your iPhone and paste into your Mac, or vice versa. Up until now I've had to use Notes to do this; this will be so much more natural and efficient. Unfortunately my 2008 Mac Pro is beyond the cutoff, so I hope they have some new pro models coming soon....

I always jump on the update on day one, but El Capital was a nightmare. This time, I'm taking my time. Same with Microsoft Office updates. It seems that for every bug they first, two more are born.

How exactly do you do that? There's no method for doing that listed. I know how to get the 5,1 firmware, but even that would never install on my 4,1. There's an error.

But then again, I sort of have two problems and the 2nd one might add to the problem.
My Mac Pro logic board was apparently replaced by the previous owner, either by Apple or an Apple authorized repair place. However they forgot to do one thing. They never serialized the logic board. I've read Apple can fix this easily at an Apple Store, but I don't think any of them will touch it anymore.

This seems to be why I cannot authenticate FaceTime to work. I don't know that's the reason, but I can't think of any other reason.

Notification Centre became useless for me – the widgets I purchased show in dark colours, with light theme, which essentially means they're unreadable.

Siri was amusing for 30 seconds.

Chrome is a beachball galore.

cDock and Bartender don't work.

I couldn't be bothered after that and restored El Cap. I'll wait.

Are there any known issues with iCloud Photo Library? That's all I really care about with my iMac.

Want to download this but need FCPX to run smoothly!

If FCPX is needed for work , forget the beta, even forget when MacOS goes live, and wait a patch or two in when it becomes stable

It wasn't against you or your assistance. So I'm sorry if I came across as rude. I was suggesting I didn't care that Apple specifies dark mode as menu bar and dock, because for me that should include notification centre and it doesn't make any sense why it wouldn't. I appreciate your reply.

cDock and Bartender are both hacks so not sure why you'd expect them to work.

Ok, update on Adobe CC with Sierra, running Photoshop and going into Legacy Save for Web mode crashes the program. I did send via Feedback Assistant.

Has anyone installed this beta for metal performance gains?

If so, have you noticed any that you can report?
