You honestly think the cost will go down? Non issue
What issues are you talking about? Mine has been flawless
iOS runs fantastic on the X, another none issue
Sick design, are you serious? The extremely boring 6-7-8 are sick and boring, the X is sexy and sleek.
I realize change is hard for some.

X for me and loving it, never going back to tired and boring. Face ID is amazing also and works flawlessly

I'm not sure how the rest of the world buys phones, but the use of IUP, NEXT and EDGE made it way to easy for buyers to absorb the extra cost. You see it as a few extra bucks a month...especially for those who use a 2 year NEXT or EDGE program.

My reservations about getting it weren't so much to do with waiting till next year to get the newer one, but just mostly about the issues with the current one.

It seems like the issues are in the minority though so I'll probably end up getting the X. Just didn't want to go and get it if there was a high chance I'd have to go back to the Apple store and get it replaced. Would rather wait a little and not have that hassle, but I guess most people are having a great experience.

Thanks for all the input!

Go for it! It’s the best iPhone Apple has made by far and it’s the most fun I’ve ever had with an iPhone.

It truly is a different experience from any other iPhone before it and a pleasure to use. Swipe gestures work great and are second nature. Oled screen is beautiful and screen is buttery smooth. :)

It is not a perfect phone but peanut is right. The overall interactions via swipe are far more fluid than the home button.

Having a button seems kinda odd after using the X for just a few weeks.

You have 9 months until the notchless X comes out. Just wait.

Don’t let the notch deter you. Honestly, I hardly notice it (especially in portrait) and if anything it is endearing and I quite like it. ;) Next years iPhones will most likely still have the notch since I don’t believe Apple or anyone else for that matter has figured out how to hide the sensors under the screen. I think we’re still more than a year away from that happpening. Until then, embrace the notch.

I just bought mine and my wife’s out right as I wanted to fully own them, be able to upgrade when I want to, trade in when I want to and keep my cell phone bill as a cell as cell phone bill for cell service, not cell service and an iPhone lease payment.

It's been a while since has needed replacing and I've been debating whether or not to get the X.

I've been seeing a few articles and stuff about issues popping up like speaker crackling noises, green line on the screen, and the screen unresponsive in cold weather (but I've heard that's a software issue so not that big of a deal).

How has your experience been so far? Are these articles just exaggerating the issues because it's a brand new iPhone? Or would you recommend waiting it out and letting all the issues get sorted out first?

The overwhelming majority of X users are happy with their purchase.

I'm very happy with mine; zero issues. I also can't wait to see if the rumors are true about a Plus sized 'X' next year. If true, I'll enjoy that one at least as much as I'm enjoying this one. :)

I say do it now. If you keep waiting for the next good thing around the corner, you'll always be waiting. And there's nothing to stop you from getting the next good thing when that comes out too. It just means that while waiting, you'll be waiting with something totally kick ass instead of something dated.

To each their own. To me, a cell phone is similar to a car. Ownership makes sense when you keep it over the long term and get your money out of it. Cell phones depreciate really quickly. So buying it straight out leaves trying not to hit the dark spot where you're getting less back than you could have gotten from a contract trade. While you can try to pick the optimum time to sell and potentially come out a $100 ahead, they've given the option of making an easy no muss option to upgrade every year.

There are pros and cons to both approaches.

At least I own it, I don’t like leasing a car or a phone as I want to be in full control of my options, not the manufacturers rules and timelines

Pull it now enjoy it

Dont think of what the coming X might offer

I agree. Why wait if you need now? I understand the fixation with worrying about what’s coming, but based on my use, the current X is a very nice phone. Very happy with my decision to upgrade. Buy it and try it out a few days. That should help you make a decision.

Update: got the X. It's not necessarily what it was hyped up to be tbh but it's still a solid phone. Definitely going to take some getting used to with all this screen space now.

Can you expand on why you think this? I think it is the best iPhone yet and I have had every one since the iPhone 4

What do think it needs?

I would wait it out. There’s nothing wrong with the X now. But the next X phone will blow the current one away and it will have significant fixes and improvements. The wait will be worth it
I doubt it will blow the current one away. Apple is good at releasing the same stuff year after year.

Not that it really needs anything (a headphone jack would be nice even though I know there's no way that's happening), but I don't really know what it's missing, it's just not the crazy phone everyone claims to be, imo. Although that's probably just due to the fact that I don't really use my phone for much other than a couple apps and mostly just as a phone. It could also be to me just wanting a more refreshed iOS. Also, I haven't set up face ID yet so that'll probably change things.

Think about how much your health costs when you abstain from the latest and greatest revolution in iPhone Kind. iPhone X is better now than later.

THEN, why not wait until the 12 or the 13?

I’m waiting for the iPhone SE X. I’m sure it’s coming.

I don't think it is. I don't think there's a market enough for Apple to spend implementing iPhone X features and a display into a form factor of the iPhone SE. If the iPhone SE does see an update, it likely wouldn't have any of the iPhone X features. It likely would have an upgraded display and internals from the iPhone 7.

I personally think the iPhone SE was a one time offering. And something else to consider, the iPhone SE was really intended for India's market because of the price point of smart phones.

So sorry that you had to type such a long post in response to mine. Maybe I should have added /s.

You know...iPhone SE X...as in like SEX.

Get it...its a very good phone...my theory is that this is a statement product made for a statement year.

Who knows, next year they could source cheaper internals and lower the price.

This phone will be an icon.

How has your experience been so far?
My experience has been stellar and to quote Rene Richie

Because iPhone X might just be the best damn product Apple has ever made.

I was a little harsh on Rene in an earlier thread because he always sides with Apple and makes excuses for them when they do misstep. While I thought his review was a little too over the top (when I didn't have an iPhone), I think he was spot on. I admit I was wrong about his assessment, and I agree with him :)
