So why first post is better then second?

I've tried to find cached page where Push is mentioned on Google Cache and Web Archive, but no luck.

IMHO, until we hear from Apple that PUSH is pushed again, I don't think there is anything wrong with it (it does work now with some applications). Especially after ESPN & AOL were so happy with it :)

Like I said, I'm sure I remember Push being on that page but I am not certain. Thats why I said we need a before and after before we get into a fanfare about it (which I already did a few posts back:p)

Has anybody caught this, or have the same issue. On my iPhone the AppStore had an extras tab, that I could either select redeem or update. Now I'm back to the orginal app store selections with no extras or redeem. Does anybody have that same issue? Maybe this can give us a clue that it is an AppStore problem?

Yea I do notice that too. People were complaining about the extras tab. Now its back to the updates without being 3.0.1 or something. Weird...

Apple has removed any mention of "push notification" from their 0S 3.0 update page.

Doesn't sound good...

As I replied over there, there was no mention of push on the update page *before* the update came out.

I assume they were concerned about overhyping a product that would have a gradual/slow/glacial rollout.

edited to add:

As the Joe Blow I, unfortunately, did not take a screen shot at the time but I had been specifically looking for that on the page and was unable to find it back before the release. It annoyed/concerned me a bit but I figured it would be rolled out over time and there was always the chance of a meltdown due to Apple's issue.

Some have mentioned that they *do* list MMS and Peer to Peer and those are carrier/developer reliant features like APNS. True *but*:

1) MMS is tried and true and any meltdown is AT&Ts fault.
2) Peer to Peer games don't rely on any Apple backend so a meltdown is not Apple's fault.

APNS, on the other hand, requires significant Apple backend and, as the MM fiasco showed, they can be pretty inept. Better to underpromise and overdeliver to those customers who are not aware of APNS yet.

can someone explain to me just what the HELL is the point of this app when you can just use the calendar?

We are all complaining about luck of PUSH applications in general and blaming Apple for either 1) slow approval process or 2) PUSH is not being ready for prime time — not sure which one is the case here :)

Push is working fine for me with WeatherAlert.

I'll enjoy it even more when Apple get AreMySitesUp and a few other apps I care about approved and into the app store.

i would like some honestity from Apple at Least. I bought the iPhone last year thinking about using push im apps...

I been using Textfree for since last thursday where push was still pretty crappy. On Sunday I began to get much more messages in a timely manner. No more 2 or 3 hour delays. Even today, Monday, it is still working like a charm.

Ridiculous. Absolutely ridiculous. They came out a year ago and claimed that we'd get notifications and delayed it, and now another delay? Really? Another couple of weeks? Why did they just not wait and launch 3.0 and 3GS in July when AT&T and Apple had it together?

lol tell me about it. Seems like once Apple actually gets some business they can't deliver  but are sure quick to yell at Microsoft and their large number of customers.

*Puts on flame retardant suit*

I kid!

Ok, I feel like an idiot but my ESPN doesn't push. Where do I go to set it up? I thought it didn't matter what gen you were on if I'm right?
