I got a notification from AP news today. At least.
B-Mac, yes but unfortunately, it's not avail for 3G S yet.

The jailbreak? I know, that was a response to whats-his-face about no apps having a lot of push traffic. There are a lot of ipod touch users who im sure use the app textfree and are getting push alerts all the time without any problem, like me. Maybe they are having a lot of push apps being submitted at once and are being delayed because of that. I mean, no offense to the OP but has anyone heard of him? Im sure apps like BeeJive and stuff have priority over lesser-known apps

Ok, the main problem we have is why are we being sold a product and when we recieve the product, there seems to be an issue. I stated earlier that the products never work. Well I'll explain, if they sell us 3.0 with MMS, and Push, the product at this moment is not working. You see sites saying all these minor upgrades are GREAT, but our service updates do not function. 3.0 was a huge step/risk, they promised all these upgrades, to raise stock prices, and new users. When we look forward to these upgrades, we do not get them, this to me is marketing a dream not a reality.

Should we wait another week to get updates to our apps, which I think Apple makes a killing off, because Apple either cannot figure out how to work Push, or some other lame excuse arises. I'm sick of that nerdy guy from apple making fun of other devices that use Push selling us this vision of how Push would work better under "Apple's" theory. It's a theory, people at push works, push does work, but with apps not used by many, not attractive to most.

Humacao - Well, it's not Apple's fault with the MMS/Tethering. God I hate AT&T (for the pricing fiasco)

If PNS get canned I will be PISSED beyond pissed. I've been hopelessly waiting for this feature since they announced it in September I believe?

UGH.....

Yes, I do agree with you. But I feel that a business like Apple I am sure today they are working on 4.0. I might be wrong, but don't you think Apple who has a lot of muscle could have had them work on the prior? I mean Apple controls ATT prices.... Just a thought

does anyone have a "before" shot of it used to be there?

Thank god I have buyers remorse still, this is a deal breaker for me. I returned the last 3G I bought because of no push IM support.

Back to the bold for me.

I believe that is because it is App dependent, not an overall service.

Wow, we have been promised push for so long and now, after promises and events and betas and dev testing and even some apps with it now, they are going to delay it again???

Lets recap WWDC '09:
1)No MMS
2)No Tethering
3) No Push

Epic Fail

MMS is carrier dependent, why didnt they keep "Push Notifications" as a service and add an asterik like they did with MMS for us in the USA? So they pump Push Notifications as a big feature and after selling over 1 million iPhones the first weekend take it out? False Advertising anyone?

Also, peer-to-peer game connectivity is app dependent, but they still mention it. Apple should just allow backgrounding because obviously they cant handle Push, even though they have had close to 2 years to work on it

I'm with you on that! This was sold to us, I hate when these cocky Apple execs get on stage bash, RIM & Windows devices and when we are supposed to get this function it falls to crap.

I don't think it was ever on the page...

Has anybody caught this, or have the same issue. On my iPhone the AppStore had an extras tab, that I could either select redeem or update. Now I'm back to the orginal app store selections with no extras or redeem. Does anybody have that same issue? Maybe this can give us a clue that it is an AppStore problem?

People should stop spreading FUD, another post on the Beejive board says there were no changes to Apple page.

From who though? Joe Blow? I havent memorized the old screen but I remember Push being on there, if someone has a before and after maybe we can solve this

Theres no problem with the App Store, they took that off a few days ago, the put "redeem" in the iTunes Store app now.

mine changed also

So why first post is better then second?

I've tried to find cached page where Push is mentioned on Google Cache and Web Archive, but no luck.

IMHO, until we hear from Apple that PUSH is pushed again, I don't think there is anything wrong with it (it does work now with some applications). Especially after ESPN & AOL were so happy with it :)

I wonder when the media will start making some noise of all this. I just feel that we are talking about this. I wish we can get some solid information about why these updates are taking so long...

Mine changed a couple times. It has the button more and then it changed back to update and has been there for a bit. Btw, I was also under the impression that Push was going to be ready on the release of 3.0...
