iPad Question about buying at 24 hour Walmart

Just called both my local walmarts. One said they would absolutely NOT sell any at midnight. Other one said she checked and didn't even think they are gonna sell them. I hate Walmart.
 
Just called my Walmart and was told they have them in stock and WILL be selling at Midnight. I am going to head over and grab one. Use it and decide if I need the mini instead.
 
All my local Wal-Marts are saying either not getting them or not until later tomorrow. Jacksonville, FL
 
I suspect the guy i just called in electronics had no idea what i was talking about. Told me not on sale at midnight. When i asked when they would be available, he just said uhhhhhh mid-day. Clearly guessing.
 
North Mississippi Area

I checked the three Walmarts (Hernando, Southaven & Olive Branch) in my area, and they all are selling them at midnight. All of them only have the 16GB and 32GB WiFi versions. No carrier versions at midnight. That kinda sucks, because I want the 64GB or 128GB Verizon versions.

I called two Walmarts in Bowling Green, KY and one said he didn't have any and the other said they would go on sell at 8:00 AM.
 
My Walmart in Orange County, CA said they did have them in stock but didn't know if they were going to be selling at midnight or at 8AM.
 
Called my local Walmart here in NorCal (Roseville) and they didn't know. Took my name and number and just called back saying none are on order and don't know when they'll get any.

I was quite surprised they took my name and actually called me back. Call me a tad bit impressed...
 
My local Walmart opens at six in the morning. Will head there and if it's a no-go will cross the street to the Apple store (both in Encinitas/Carlsbad area).
 
Good to see consistency

Some employes sell them now. Some say 12am. Others never heard of them

Then others say 8:00am, as in: 'not on my shift'
 
I'm heading over. Got his name. I'll be a bit pissed if I dont get it. I called a Walmart that's in a nicer area. Employees seem to be "different".
 
Maybe it's just me but I REALLY hate that these big retailers like Walmart, Target or even Best Buy, employ people that know absolutely nothing about electronics. When I called the first time I got an older lady that didn't know what an iPad was and told me to call back because the manager was on lunch. I just called again and got an older guy that again had to speak to the manager because he wasn't sure. It's just ridiculous.
 
my wall mart here in jersey one didn't know they had them in stock the other said when the store opens at 6am but wifi models only -_-
 
I dont think anybody will have success getting one at midnight from Walmart unless they break the rules.. I called about 10 different Walmarts.. either had no idea what's happening or won't be selling until 6am or 7am.
 
has anyone ever actually purchased a carrier model iPad from their local walmart in the past? I have always seen wifi versions at launch.

They are just unsure so don't want to go out on a limb

The registers, however, will allow a sale to be made at 12:01am Nov1st, as they don't break it down by hours ( I don't think)

You just have to find somebody cool with it. And from the looks of the responses here, that appears to be about .0003% of the employes ( this breaks down to about 1/8 of a person)

I called 2 of my nearby walmarts earlier today. One said no they don't have any and won't until 8ish. The other said they definitely would have them for sale tonight.

I just got off work and called them again to make sure and of course they say they have no idea where the shipment could be. I'll probably just check out best buy or walmart later tomorrow and hope for the best.
 
It's getting close to midnight so there's got to be a few people in Walmart's right now waiting for the registers to open.
