Just underneath the partition name, click on the drop-down menu that currently says "MS DOS File System" and select "Mac OS Journaled(Extended)" from the list.

I think that when you do that, you may see the "options" button that we've been describing.

I did this from my Macbook Pro, but disk utility in 10.4 should be "close enough."

Do you have enough disc images! :D

----------

Right here go's guys here are pictures of disk Ute's screen on my G5.

You can see that i don't have any options button at all

Do what bunnspecial said, and you might want to try a single partition as well.

Hi guys,

I have been and looked for the mac OS extended (journaled) in the drop down list.
As you can see from the pictures i only get 2 options :
1)ms dos file
2)free space

I am at a total loss of what to do next

Any more suggestions guys??

Well guys,

Here is the proof, let the fun begin.

She is a beauty! I am glad that Gavin was able to hook you up. Enjoy PowerPC, and make sure to get some apps from Gavin's PowerPC Archive. Once you go Mac, you don't go back!

Hi guys,

Come back from work today and turned my G5 on and i got the bong and all was good with the world.

To answer a question she is a dual core 2 GHz PowerPC G5, with 1 Tb hard drive & 750GB hard drive +16GB memory all run through 26 Phillips monitor.

Not forgetting a extra 1TB hard drive in an external docking station, linked up to a usb port on the back.

I think that will do to start.

I have been offered a genuine snow leopard disk set , will this run on my G5?

I am so over the moon with this setup, i think i night see if i can pick another one up and see what i can do with that one ???????

Gavin i will be dropping by your web site ASAP looking for stuff for my G5.

The maximum OS a PowerPC Mac like your G5 can run is OS X Leopard 10.5.
