Re-do those calculations and use the ear-piece slot for measurements.

This is clearly the iPhone 4G, and it has a smaller Home Button, and larger screen but keeping the same dimensions of the iPhone. Larger screen - maybe why Apple was asking developers to test their apps out on the "tablet simulator".

I'm not sure I would like a screen that size on a phone, the iPhone already felt awkward when I first got my hands on one.

If the earpiece in the photo is the same as on the iPhone, then the screen size is ~5.1 inches (4.5"x2.5").

Won't a smaller (that small) home button affect usability?

Yea, the home button would be less than 1/4 inch in size if the earpieces were the same size.

That picture just looks wierdly out of proportion.

Yea, in the real world, the home button has a diameter about the same as the width of the earpiece.

The hole in the upper-left is for the backlight sensor. If you look at current iPhones in bright light, you can see actually three of these little buggers, two next to the speaker and one as shown in the above photo.

My iPod touch has one also.

I think we can all agree on two things:

1. There is absolutely no reason that this weird tablet-computer-gizmo that Apple supposedly is working on would look like a giant iPhone. That would be completely ridiculous. This is by all means NOT the tablets front panel.

2. There is a possibility this is either a new version of the iPhone or a prototype of a new iPhone. That is indeed very possible as it has the same holes for home button etc.

But a tablet it is not.

This succulent morsel of a discussion looks pretty and makes me mouth water.

All for a rumored product that most likely doesn't exist.

Here's my PS CS3 calculations (assuming a 10" diagonal). Let me know if you can't read the numbers.

so i like the idea of the camera hole being in the top left
because if most people are right handed, they will hold the device with there left hand which puts the home button in a perfect spot for the left thumb and the camera wouldn't be blocked by your hand or hands if you were holding it with both hands.

This thing has fake all over it! The home button probably got photoshopped. It looks like it has the same dimensions as an iPhone, and I would be disappointed with Apple's sense of originality if this is true... Sadly, I wouldn't buy this if it looked like a GIANT iPHONE!

I did some calculations assuming the iSlate's home button was the same size as the iPhone's home button. The iPhone's home button is about 7/16 of an inch in diameter.

So using pixel dimensions, the 7/16" home button is 30 pixels. From there you can calculate the other dimensions from the number of pixels. This isn't exact due to the angle, but it gives a rough estimate and looks like 10" is the size of the screen.

You can double check my math if you like...

Awesome!

After perspective correction EDIT: and lens distortion correction in Photoshop, my measurements come to a 10" screen and almost exactly 1.85:1 screen ratio.

Measure it yourself, if you want.

Oh, and it could well be the 'glass' part, like the glass screen of the Alu MacBooks: clear in the middle and black on the bezel.

Ya beat me to it but I included the iPhone for size relationship.

Is it fake? Yea probably.. the fakers know apple is going with a 10" screen why wouldn't they whip up something like this? Though, you never know.

Huh?

I'm asking this because I honestly don't have the slightest idea, but why would someone intentionally fake bezel pictures? What's the incentive?

The incentive is coming on this forum and seeing everyone discuss this "fake" and knowing that you created it.

This is absolutely hysterical. Why would you have an "earpiece" on a device with a 10" screen? You're supposed to hold this thing up to your ear?

Is this the iPhone "Jay Leno" version?
