Questionable Tablet Bezel Image Surfaces

Why would a tablet need a ear speaker slit? That would look silly to use it like a phone.

Sound coming from a slit sounds better than it coming from inside the frame (and out of the dock connector hole) like on my iPod touch.

I did some calculations assuming the iSlate's home button was the same size as the iPhone's home button. The iPhone's home button is about 7/16 of an inch in diameter.

So using pixel dimensions, the 7/16" home button is 30 pixels. From there you can calculate the other dimensions from the number of pixels. This isn't exact due to the angle, but it gives a rough estimate and looks like 10" is the size of the screen.

You can double check my math if you like...

It's so easy to prototype with plastics... any shape or form can be spruiked in 24 hours...
CES demo'd one such prototyping desktop device.

So any factory or even office could bounce $50 for a plastic prototype from a 3D CAD model... shrink wrap and photograph it with a fuzzy photo...

I am going to assume this is the next iPhone if anything. Guessing they will shrink the home button to the iPod touch size and put a slightly bigger screen in it, but maintain the same outside overall size. At least that is my hope. Jan 27th can't come fast enough.

i hope thats not the tablet : / why on earth would it have a speaker like on the iphone for calls ? I don't fancy using a 10" device to make calls. Imagine that! i'll stick with my iphone lol. If it's going to have speakers then it should be like the iPhone, and have them down at the bottom beside a possible microphone.

I think this could possibly be the new iphone 🙂 i hope they keep the actual phone the same size as the iphone 3g/s but just a bigger screen, which is i think is done here. I'm not a big fan of a camera on the front, but i know its a feature alot of people are hoping for! but hey all i'm hoping for is a new UI in OS 4.0 so an extra feature is nothing bad 🙂

that aint the tablet, it's a prototype for the iPhone, and it's actually quite old. here's a prototype for the tablet, I photoshopped a coin in, sorry for my bad skills, also I blurred the logo of our company, coz I dont wanna be sued 😉
the patches around the camera came there after a heattest, sorry, but this case didn't make it 😉

WHAT yes I do and I think a lot of people Reading these discussions want one too. If you dont then fine. Don't buy one but lots of is do and have been waiting a long time for it.

It still falls short as a "mockup" - closing windows on a 10" screen with a "classic" OS X environment would be tedious, at best, a huge pain in the ass at worst. 🙄

I think if it wasn't going to happen Apple would have leaked or otherwise notified us to stand down.. Given that they haven't and let the lawyers free on some people that it's more likely to be on it's way.

I suspect that invites will go out Tuesday/Wednesday.. As others have said people will have already blocked out the days and reserved flights so they don't need to give too much notice.
