I'm so sorry to say that SIRI is a big deception, along with Apple Maps. Both are very unreliable, don't respond to many many commands, direct you to wrong places, etc... I have resigned to go back using Google Maps when I travel ( and I do travel a lot ) because I've been mislead so often with Apple maps. Sent corrections... takes months before they show up. SIRI is the same. It replies either silly things or does not understand what I'm trying to say. They have to put their act together. I'm absolutely happy with all of the other Apple products and use them daily (iPad, iPhone, MBA, iMac). But SIRI and Maps are a mess at the moment.

I love my Apple Watch. I got a Fitbit as a gift and I’ve never opened it. I’m definitely not passionate about Fitbit!

Well is anyone that passionate about wearables in general? I mean they have their usefulness and I like my Apple watch but I could also live without it or any wearable. Great for notifications and fitness tracking though.
I haven't worn mine at all for the last three weeks and I can't say I've missed it. I don't think I'll be getting another Apple Watch or any other smartwatch as I much prefer wearing traditional watches.

Fitbit whistling past the grave yard.

I owned one prior to Apple Watch being released. No plan to ever go back.

It is true, but it varies a lot between countries. A lot of western nations + Japan have iPhone ownership in the 40-55% range, meaning close to every other person you see is going to have an iPhone. I was confused on this too until MR did an article on it recently. Made sense once I knew that iPhone user % is much higher in some countries than others.

And even within the US there's a big age and economic divide. If you are in a younger more affluent crowd you are much less likely to encounter Android.

Yeah, guess he’s happy living in a bubble?

What’s his point here? That all the Apple Watch owners are just biting at the bit to switch platforms? Does he not realize that saying incredibly dumb things like this will likely cause investors to lose confidence in him?

Also, Siri was such a disaster that immediately TV shows dedicated whole episodes to Siri as a character. Wish o could make disasters that were so successful.

He's also alienating potential customers big time here. He's implying that people who will want to buy a Fitbit hate the current Apple Watch UX, which means people who like watchOS (which is the majority of Apple Watch users) won't like fitbits.

Whether you agree with the design or not their iconic shape makes them instantly recognisable - even my non-tech sister has pointed out before so-and-so has an Apple Watch. Fitbit would die for that sort of brand recognition. Talk the talk bud and let’s see how your sales / profits do this year ...

tbf i have yet to meet anyone passionate about the smart watch concept in general.

Daily charging will always be the deal breaker for those devices.

Maybe? I imagine this is the case for people who are actually already wearing watches. I think most people ditched watches for their phones and all the various other gadgets around us.

Then comes the Watch and it makes watches cool again. And most people who weren’t wearing watches before probably don’t even blink at daily charging since everything else we have needs to be charged everyday as well.

He looks like he stays inside at the office a lot. Maybe if his Fitbit was encouraging him to get out more often, he'd see all the Apple Watch users out there.

"I have yet to meet anyone who owns an Apple Watch who's passionate about the product"

Translation: I've yet to talk to anyone about their Apple Watch.
or: I've yet to lift my head when outside and haven't ever noticed anyone with an Apple Watch.
or: I'm lying through my teeth.

"I have yet to meet anyone who owns an Apple Watch who's passionate about the product," said Fitbit's chief financial officer Bill Zerella. "If you don't have an Apple phone, you're not buying an Apple Watch… 80% of the world is Android, not Apple."

I haven't met Jim Dalrymple but he's pretty passionate about it.
The second statement is probably true. But every report I've seen still says that Apple has the majority of smartwatch sales, in spite of it.

Fitbit is still a thing? Who knew... :p

Presumably Mr Fitbit asked himself, his wife (Mrs Fitbit) and all the little Fitbits what they thought and, like all good members of the Fitbit family, reminded Mr Fitbit that there was only one Wearable and that was, of course, the Fitbit.

The Fitbit family should get out more and meet others. Time to broaden their horizons methinx.

I have one, but I am not passionate about it. It's clunky and slow, which means I don't have any apps on their save 'pong' for when I am on the toilet. It's good for getting notifications, half of which you cant interact with. Health app is ok. Touch screen is about as responsive as coma patient at times.

This Mr Fitbit can go and fu... himself. What a stupid fool, he is. I only love my kids, my wife and my mother and that is where my love ends; however, I like a lot of things including Apple Watch. Is AW something, I could live without it? Certainly. I mostly got it to get motivated to lose some weight. Once I hit the goal and I am able to maintain my weight and routines for a year or two, I will probably think twice before justifying buying a new model as I never was a watch person in the first place, so the moment I find my AW not being necessary for my well being, I will probably get rid of it.

I pause, resume, skip forward, skip back with HomePod Siri to my AppleTV every day.

My wife is not a techie but she loves her Apple Watch. Our adult daughter had a Fitbit for a year or so, but finally switched over to an Apple Watch. Saying he's met no one that is passionate about their Apple Watch sounds a lot like Steve Ballmer laughing at the $500 iPhone. Fitbit sounds a bit desperate.

I love the Apple Watch & AirPods!
Same with my wife, which really surprised me. She's not a techie and both the Apple Watch and the Airpods were a gift to her from me -- I did not know if she would like them -- she loves them. And AirPods at $159 -- an incredibly great buy.
