It's not the color, it's the attitude. "Cool new Apple products"? Like the constant re-purposing of old tech (SE, 6th Gen iPad, 2007 operating system interface, adding touch strips to old-style Macbooks, etc.) or things that never hit their stride like Apple TV, or already-vintage-looking new releases like Apple Watch, or features that aren't really features (like animated emojis -- or new emojis to add to the hundred already there).

Where's the innovation? Where's the new look? Where's the "next big thing"? In my opinion, releasing a gold or red iPhone and calling it "cool new Apple products" doesn't cut it any more.

It's time for new management...
What's wrong with a product being/looking cool?

Don't see what the obsession is with red since it's associated with communism. Prefer something that mimics nature like this beetle color transition which is currently the best looking on the market.

Evidently, many people do not read - or cannot read since part of the money spent on (PRODUCT)RED is contributed to the Global Fund to fight AIDS. All these references to communism makes me think Donnie's people must be trolling here.

Or are people that egocentric that they just do not care about anyone else?

(Yes, redundant - for those who don't know what egocentric means.)

While the color red's connection to communism is tenuous at best, it is very clear as to who Apple is sucking up to by releasing the red phone - its Chinese customers, oh what do we know, where communism happens to the dominant political belief!

Communism? Chinese customers? REALLY? REALLY?

Each time I read people saying Apple has lost it, I think at this:

A red iPhone will be welcomed, as it has become king of a classic color in various Apple linups.

Both of those were really unique iMac options. I hope Apple one day offer some similarly daring alternatives again - the metal finishes are amazing and I love them, but I do miss the depth the translucent polycarbonate offered (not to mention the possibilities for layered / embedded patterns such as Flower Power and Blue Dalmatian).

As with anything Apple, when they did coloured plastics they did them better than others: higher quality, more interesting shapes, amazing colour choices and saturation, cleaner finishes etc.

I'm guessing the type of designs above aren't possible with aluminium… but iPhone can still be personalised with a case; it would be great to see some alternatives to solid colour silicone cases, from Apple (maybe either something like these old iMac options, or bold designs along the lines of iTunes gift cards over the years).
