Regarding the whole glass thing, have you guys been around the Apple campus (even the current Infinite Loop one)? I swear what I've seen is people there are probably the worst offenders about using phones while walking. I've been at my share of Fortune 500 companies, and in the past few years there has been an emphasis about not walking while texting in the hallways, but it seems like that training is absent at Apple judging from how people walk around there? There's people crossing streets while on their phones too. Sure you have a protected crossing at times and a light to stop traffic, but basic safety principles go out the window a lot.

Also I challenge you to look at the traffic lights in the morning and watch the cars turning into campus. A good number of drivers are also using their phones at stoplights.

Now extrapolate this to people walking into glass. Surprised?

Reporting work-place injuries is probably the smartest route and calling EMS would make workers compensation claims smoother I would assume.
Yup, both for workers comp and keeping some sort of frivolous lawsuit option in the back pocket, the more documented proof the better. Sad but true.

In practicality, a waste of 911 resources.

I do like Xiaomi. Well at least I really used to. The phones are good but my concern now is how much data China can siphon. With even Apple agreeing to give full access to Chinese citizens and their data, with Xiaomi, would China end up with unfettered access to ours?

I understand the first 911 call, where blood is gushing out of his head, but the second two? Apple certainly must only be hiring people that have no skills outside of their careers.

They sound like adult babies. They can’t patch up and move on to an urgent care center, like a self-sufficient adult would do?

No wonder why Apple is installing their own medical offices. (ROTFL)

Its probably not the employee but the company policy. Chill out chief.

I'm pretty sure that many Apple employees are socially inept, and not "tough". Kinda comes with the territory.

Ok tough guy. Its probably company policy and mandated by insurance.

From no transparency with customers to too much transparency with employees.

If they were smart they'd use Samsung glass.

This happened to me too. The solution was to attach pink PostIt notes to the glass. #lifehack

I think this problem is very common in offices (and other places) where there are glass doors and walls. I remember we had the same problem where I used to work and I remember many doing the same thing that you did until more dedicated stickers was put up.

Love the 911 call transcript! Was the security guard even listening!

Dispatcher: I’m going to give you the control bleeding instructions so they can help that ... so listen carefully and let’s make sure we do it right. Get clean dry cloth or towel and place it right on the wound and tell him to press down firmly and do not lift it up to look.

Caller: Press on the wound and do not look up.
