Don't want to derail this thread, but I just don't see the value in .mac. Maybe it's 'cause I already have server space for myself. And it feels like Apple is forcing value onto the .mac thing when they restrict iSync's abilities to .mac users.
OK. I'm done...
I don't think we're derailing. The thread is about iSync 1.1 and QT.
So here's the scenario, I have a computer at home, and a computer at work. You want their bookmarks synced. I press iSync. Just where to the bookmarks go? I go to work and press isync... where are the bookmarks supposed to come from?
With .mac, I have server space and the bookmarks get copied there. When I get to work, they get synced with my work computer.
I guess they could be synced with the iPod or a phone like iCal, but since the iPod doesn't display bookmarks maybe it didn't really occur to them or they didn't want to clutter up the ipod. I'll admit I hadn't really thought of iPod syncing of bookmarks. Why not?
But I still didn't understand your solution of "copy it over to safari." What does that mean? They're coming FROM safari. They need to get copied to either the .mac server, or a device (ipod, phone) to transport them to the other computer.
It would also be nice to just have all computers updated automagically with rendezvous if desired.
For all it's supposed simplicity, I can't get rendezvous to do a dang thing.
