Np. Radioshack's return policy is one of the most lenient I've seen. And trust me, every associate would rather swap the phone than return it. Mainly because of commission loss.

I called another store this morning and they said it would be absolutely no problem. I just have to wait for more phones to be delivered. :)

Oh so...

Does this only apply to RadioShack or does it also apply to AT&T Verizon and Sprint as well?

But that's still good to know.

Same deal- No 32/64gb phones

Some stores got their 32gb Verizon phones, some did not. Mine did not. They offered me a 16gb phone, but no sign of the preorders.

Aha!

I just talked to a manager that basically said it's a bit of a disaster. He got his phones, but many stores around him did not get 32 or 64gb phones.

So that leaves us with the option to find a 16gb and swap it before 14 days (new customer) or to just be a grown up and wait for the pre order.

Of course here's hoping that my pre-order doesn't come in during my overseas trip next week.

At it's core the phone is a spec bump with a couple of very interesting new features, mainly worldphone. But worldphone is only useful if I have been a customer for 60 days so they'll unlock the sim slot, and the spec bump I don't really need that bad.

I'm just going to wait for the pre order to come in.

Update to my RadioShack debacle that I posted earlier...

Yesterday they told me I'd have to wait a week longer to get my pre-ordered phone, but they we're able to get it in this morning (Saturday). They also threw in a free screen protector for the hassle they caused yesterday. So I take back what I posted earlier, Radio Shack is not run by retards, they made good on my pre-order, albeit a day late.

I agree as a customer and as a previous employee, we are more knowledgable and committed to customer satisfaction than any other place, and we take pride in it. I can't even count how many times a day people would come to us just for good reliable info and then walk across the street to walmart or best buy to purchase something. It made me angry, but proud too...

I am glad to hear that. I didn't comment on your initial Radioshack retards comment because i more than understand where you were coming from. I also knew however that any kinks in the process or problems were issues that started and ended with Corporate Headquarters and higher-ups and not the core people, the people you would deal with. That is how we always did things, I am sorry it was a day late, but like you inferred, it was out of their hands, the moment the situation came into their realm of control they took charge and made good on it. I am glad you got your screen protectors. If you feel you made a connection with a certain sales individual , you may contact them and ask them if its feasible for them to contact their stores ATT rep, explain the situation, and tell them you requested to have your upgrade fee waived. It would probably be easier and quicker result wise at least to just call ATT customer service, but a lot of customers love Radioshack for their ability to put a problem in their hands and just have it dealt with behind the scenes, without elevator music. Glad you got your phone.

Thing is, there are a lot of horror stories about walking into a Radioshack but to tell you the truth, most stores aren't like that. Radioshack has nothing on the bigger companies like Best Buy, Walmart and whatnot. They try to bring people in again by their customer service and knowledge (some associates). I have a lot of customers who just come in to speak to me. Hell, I have one guy who doesn't go to the Apple store when his Apple devices have issues because he knows I can help him w/o the waiting time. Even though I'm leaving soon, it's a great place to work for.. I to tell you the truth would never walk into a Radioshack before I started working for them. Now it's different.

Not at this time, stock is so limited. Theres a lot of places you can do this though, like the ATT store, they will sell it to you off contract, and assuming your asking for the obvious reasons I think you are, you will still get the benefit your looking for if you but it out of contract from the ATT store as you would from getting it out of contract at Apple or anywhere else.
