Hello, how are you doing?

Since a few days a random Apple TV shows up in the list of output devices for sound on my Mac.

Now, I was already wondering why my AV receiver showed up in the output devices without me connecting my mac to it but I figured that it is because it is connected to the same network. (Right?)

Must be my neighbours Apple TV but why does it show up in my output devices?

Best Regards and thanks in advance.

It's now possible to stream content to an Apple TV via AirPlay even if the source device isn't connected to the same LAN as the Apple TV. I'd assume that the Apple TV advertises itself via Bluetooth.

Your neighbour may want to consider revising their AirPlay configuration. 🙂
