Having had only three iPhones having come over from Blackberry Android, ranking them is easy.

1) iPhone 14 Pro Max 512GB in Space Black
2) iPhone 13 Pro Max 512GB in Graphite
3) iPhone 12 Pro Max 256GB in Space Gray

iPhone 3G
iPhone 4
iPhone 4S
iPhone 5
iPhone 6 Plus
iPhone XS Max
iPhone 13 mini
iPhone 14 Pro Max

1.) 6s Plus
2.) XS Max
3.) 13 Pro Max
4.) OnePlus 3T
5.) 6 Plus
6.) 5
7.) 5
8.) Google Nexus 5

By far my favorite iPhone is the 6S Plus followed by my XS that I dropped in a pool in the first 6 months. I kept that phone for 3 years and got that thing soaked constantly. Every time I opened it and dried it. I’d have kept it longer if it didn’t start to shut down at random near the launch of the 13. That was an amazing iPhone.

I love my 13 pro max but I hate the body of the phone. The curved edges of the XS were my favorite. Feels better in my hands.

I had two iPhone 5 one before I got the google nexus 5 (worst phone I ever owned) and again after. I couldn’t make it 3 months with the nexus.

I loved my OnePlus 3T. An amazing android phone with its very clean oxygen os.

I don’t know all the rankings but I think my Midnight Green 11 Pro Max is up there for being my overall favorite. iPhone 4S is up there for the nostalgia - it was my first iPhone. 5S is up there too for perfecting that iPhone 4 design language and adding TouchID…

Wasn’t all that infatuated with the 6’s and 7’s in hindsight. Loved the X. Xs was good because it brought back the Plus (Max) screen size. I had some buyer’s remorse with my 12, but the 13 was better since it brought a nicer color and ProMotion. Haven’t opened my 14 yet but Tim Cook thinks I’m gonna love it.

These stand out among the models I had/have:

Original iPhone - "OMG! This is magic!"
iPhone X - "Face ID!"
iPhone 11 PM - "Night camera, big screen!"
iPhone 14 PM - "5G, Dynamic Island, Deep Purple (bowing towards Minnesota...)!"

I really can’t remember in detail how much more I liked one over another from the early years. I’ve had a new one (or maybe even two) every year.

I remember LOVING the 3GS. I can vividly remember going to the ATT in our local mall at the time, and buying them for my husband, all my teenagers, and myself, then spending a small FORTUNE on Otterboxes. ;-p

I loved the 4/4S because the shape was so new and different. OMG that was a cute little stubby phone!

I had the 5s, but then I went big with the 6, and I LOVED how it got so thin it was so light! I got the + upgrades like that every year through the 8+ I loved that design.

I had the XR, which I also loved, then the 11, 12, did a stint with the SE 2020, and finally went pro with the 13. After about 6 months I sold off the pro to give the mini a try, knowing I was upgrading to the 14 pro because of the lack of notch. I have to say I REALLY enjoyed the 13 mini a lot.

All that said, and clearly not stating favorites because I think each one has had its merits, I really am pleased with the 14 pro, though I think my overall favorite physical phone were the 6-8 versions (regular and plus size).

I think my ideal phone would be something about the size of an 11 pro, but a little thinner, and aluminum (lightweight) with all the features of this 14 pro. :)

1) iPhone 8 (like it fine, no issues or problems with it)
2) iPhone 5 (it was a bit slow....not very fun to use)

My spouse got the iPhone 6. We hated that phone so much and had so many problems with it Apple eventually just upgraded us to the 6s for free. The 6s worked fine for a bit, until the random shutdowns started...rather than deal with trying to fix the 6s we just got the iPhone 7. No problems with the iPhone 7.

The iPhone 7 and iPhone 8 have done us well so far.

Have only had two.

Last place -- iPhone 13. Worse than every Samsung phone I've owned. A bit better than my Nexus 5 and Nexus 6 were. I'm aware I must have had a bad one; I know my experience is not representative.

First place -- iPhone 14 Pro Max. Excellent phone. Every single issue with the 13 is not present. Fast. fluid, smooth, no issues web browsing, great camera, excellent battery life. The only smartphone I've owned that had better battery life was a Nokia Lumia 1520.

1) iPhone 11 Pro - My favorite design. Great feel, weight, size, cameras, battery, everything. Wish they still made this size. The included software-based portrait mode in practice is nearly always better than the hardware-based one that was also on previous models, but it's nice that they gave us the choice between the two. I must admit I did miss the loss of 3D touch but was willing to accept it if that meant better battery life.

2) iPhone 7+ - May just be because I was coming from a disappointing iPhone 6 to this, but I really loved this phone. Great weight distribution, speedy, and good battery life. Blazing fast fingerprint reader.

3) iPhone XS - A solid phone that gave me more hope for Face ID after the previous X model failed to impress with how slow it was. Battery life was average at best until dark mode was introduced.

4) iPhone 5 - A solid performer and great for its time.

5) iPhone 8+ - The portrait lighting options that were first released with this model were laughably bad, even on the pictures used in the store's demo units. Weight distribution was quite uncomfortable in comparison to the 7+, and seemed to have worse battery life.

6) iPhone SE (2nd Gen) - I wanted to love this because the fingerprint reader was nice in an era of facemasks but the battery was just so terrible. The RAM also gave me issues, with apps often reloading even if I was only out of them briefly.

7) iPhone 13 Pro - The camera was a complete letdown and pictures/video always looked muddy. Zoom was awful. Extremely top-heavy. The square edges look good but in actual use were quite uncomfortable.

8) iPhone 6 - Had more hardware issues with this than any other iPhone. Gen 1 fingerprint reader was also slooooow.

I like the thin design and rounded edges of the 6, 7 and 8 as well. That’s one of the reasons I had no problem going to the SE this time around. I thought the flat edges worked better on the earlier/smaller models versus the size of the newer phones.

1. iPhone 13 Mini. Perfect phone for my uses. Am not upgrading until next year’s iPhone 15, if then.
2. iPhone 6s+. Well designed and executed. Took a lot of photos and did a lot of traveling with it.
3. iPhone 5. In hindsight, not that good a phone. Much smaller screen than the only slightly larger 13 Mini. Lousy camera compared to the 6s+. But it was nice at the time.

And that’s all I’ve owned.

For me it seems natural to rank them in order of CPU or “fastness” given the similarity in form and function of all iphones (especially those I’ve had):
1. SE 2020
2. iPhone 7
3. iPhone 4S
4. iPhone 3GS

Of course, speed diminishes after a few years, for each phone. Hard to say which size I prefer….probably 3GS/4S, even though the “larger” size is easier to read on.

iPhone X is my favorite so far and my current phone. The iPhone 6 was my least favorite. Hopefully whatever version of the Pro Max (14, 15, 16...) I choose as my next device will take the top spot or at least top three

Tbh every new iphone is better than the last so I would definitely never wish to go back. iPhone 5 was a special one for me though because I liked the form factor so much at the time. Now it’s laughably small so I don’t really miss it, just the feeling of novelty it gave me at the time
