Tim Cook was so stilted in person it was possible to believe he personally wrote his AI-sounding notes. But with this having almost the same language use, it seems like they must use the equivalent of speechwriters within Apple for executive communication. With Steve Jobs, you could tell he personally wrote what he sent out. I guess it doesn't really matter in the grand scheme of things. Eyes will glaze over, but no harm in that.

I worked for a megacorp once. They had three people, one of whom was a lawyer, rewriting all CXO speak.

I'm leaning more towards what we will see is just a pre-recorded video instead of 2010's and earlier actual live presentation, but we could be in for a surprise on the 9th Sept 2026.

What a load of CEO waffle talk. I await to see how he does and if he brings anything new to the table.... although Tim's team did bring Apple Silicon.
I’m curious, exactly what did you expect him to say?

“Team:
In my 25 years at Apple, we have done absolutely nothing good. Everything we have done is garbage, and you guys should be ashamed of yourselves.
John”

Waiting to see all the new launches across all the different product categories under new leadership.

I want to know if Craig was even considered for CEO. Did Craig want the position?
They couldn't afford the electricity bill for HairForce One's hair blower. Didn't meet the environmental policy.

that message just was so disgusting. 99% of it was just praising leadership and CEOs and executives taking credit for stuff. And then almost as an afterthought, he thanks employees for help. More of the same executives make 100 times the average worker and think they are the one that made it happened. think they are amazing, forgetting it was actually everyone else that deserves credit.

Seeing how software quality has steadily gone downhill since he was put in charge of it, wouldn’t want him to have more responsibility. Great persona for marketing, no doubt a brilliant engineer, but a lousy leader. Hope he is out the door in the near future.
Yeah I love Craig as much as the next guy but the ‘26’ generation has left me wondering what happened to software engineering at Apple.

Yes, to paraphrase Daniel Eran Dillinger, Apple is a Hardware a company…but also to paraphrase DED, Software Sells Systems, and lately the software has been a bit rough…

Maybe it’s recency bias, but I’m glad to see the CEO of Apple once again leading with products at the center of his thought process. I don’t recall Tim speaking in such a product-forward way.

Glad to have a product person back in charge. Let’s see how this goes!

Right? It’s the same ol corpo talk of giving the higher ups their reach arounds, patting each other on the back, etc…instead of acknowledging the workers that make Apple what it is. Corporate caste system at its finest

A historic day!

Seems like a man of few words who probably doesn't like writing these kinds of things ha. John seems like a cool guy based on his Wiki. Mechanical engineer, ex-swimmer, into auto racing/rally and Porsche. I’d 100% be friends with him ahaha.

Can't wait to see the direction he takes Apple over the coming years, I have a good feeling about it. I hope robotics is involved, Apple is the only company I’d trust to put a robot in my house.

Congrats John! 🍻

For those of us old enough to have known Jobs era as well the Cook era, it feels a bit weird. It’s gonna take some time to adjust to the idea of this new Ternus era.
