through push notification, when an app gets a notification you have the option to have it display a number on a red badge/pin looking thing with how many notifications are active for that app. that way you can see if an app needs your attention from the home screen
My proposed solution isn't Spaces (I abhor Spaces on Leopard, hate it), but Expose. To me, this makes the most sense on the iPhone platform to iconically and metaphorically represent tasks in a touchscreen environment. Spaces doesn't make sense b/c it's about app or space organization, where as Expose has *always* been about app *management*.
So, I'm going out on a limb here, in the EVENTUALITY that Apple introduces Backgrounding/True Multitasking I bet it will be visually represented in iPhone's version of Expose. I'm putting my money down on that.![]()
Fully agree. I've thought that for a while. Makes so much sense - much more, in fact, than the card system Palm uses because you would be able to go from any app to any other app rather than only being able to go to app 2 or 4 when you're currently on app 3.
Thank you to everyone who answered my Q re: the iPhone allowing space for full addresses.... and even much more info than that, per your great responses... and love the google maps feature, thanks... and google earth with the cameras up and down the streets, very cool... does the iPhone do google earth?(It's a memory hog on my White iBook but fun to play with nonetheless.)
Jailbreak ---> Winterboard
To be fair, the Pre card system (which imho is actually very well done to visually represent multitasking) is very similar to expose. If you think about it.
