This is almost the exact difference between a 3GS's screen and a iPhone 4. When the 4 came out I said the same thing, "my screen is fine... I've never had a problem with pixels".
So I issue this warning to you... don't look at one. Because after I saw an iPhone with retina display looking at my old screen was like rubbing razor blades on my eyes.
*Waiting for my first iPad to ship.
Just imagine how good the graphics will look on the new screen. It IS the major reason I am upgrading.
Well I agree with this in part. I do think the new screen looks fantastic. This will be my first iPad so I have no basis for comparison. However my wife is getting an iPad 2 so then I can. But if my experience was only looking at the 2 with no comparison, would it really look horrible?
