Yea that "not updating MB and 17inch MBP" line really got me. There is no company out there that only updates once product when its part of a line that is supposed to be incremental.
Maybe they meant those models won't be in stores tomorrow, like how the 17" took an extra week or two to ship last time.

why would they only have one item ready to buy then?

Its all or nothing as far as i see it.

OMG that thing is hideous! Apple why couldnt you keep the old design and just tweaked it just slightly??

the motion blur is there because it was taken with a crappy iphone camera. Not a photoshop just a bad photo.

also if you look at the left side of the screen, it seems to me that the aluminum framing around the glossy screen is SEE THROUGH!!

I say it's real. Given the problems they have had with Air touch pad button, I'd say they have gone with touch zones on the pad. Fine by me. I like it.

CANT WAIT to see the specs on this infant.

it looks aight, i liked it at first. i just wanna hear the specs, so i can decide to myself whether it really is worth it or not.

why does it seem like, in the second photo, that the top of the macbook pro is not flush with the bottom, like its a bit longer?
do you see what i mean? like the bottom casing is not the same size as the top casing

Some have suggested that with certain lighting conditions this can occur.

my guess is that IF the first picture is real, the second is too but edited in ways to decieve us. You can see the expressport is taped over and possibly that mystery port too. I think whoever took the picture threw something over the actual topcase and took the pic.

Lotta effort tho...

Some rumors have been saying we will see an iLife update tomorrow as well (like the iMac event last year).

While I think this would be great, I have no idea if it is probable at all. However, on the second picture there appears to be the iLife "logo". Can anyone enhance the picture to see if it is different from the current iLife '08 "logo"?

It's probable because Apple never has an event simply for new hardware. You can't fill an hour keynote with "Ohh..they are aluminum!"

Oh I definitely think it is a logical rumor to make for that and last year's iMac event reasons. I am just not sure if it would make sense if Apple released the new suite. Can you understand the distinction :)? My abilities to articulate are declining as the time wears on :)

Also, I would expect the source of these pictures to say if iLife would be updated, and he didn't so I am not expecting it.

One would expect the iLife logo to be on the box though. I would like to see if it is different than the current one.

Side-by-side comparison- they are the same.

does no one else see that the left side of the glossy screen, the framing is see through and the other side it's not

dude thats just because its blurry, you can tell that the framing is also 3 times the thickness of the other side, its just the photo is blurry thats all

Assuming this isn't fake, the see through part could just be due to the blur present on the entire left side of the picture.

You mean the aluminum frame? That's because of the blur. This picture was most likely taken with an iPhone, and the camera shook as the picture was taken, causing the blur, which makes it look transparent.

EDIT: Damn, beaten.

Thats just lame. You NEED to have a button. Looks like most of my family will have a hard time using this. I dont want to buy a $ 2k laptop and then lug around a mouse all the time. I *might* get used to it, but why wouldnt they include a button! I hope they have ones with a button for BTO macbooks, or maybe there is a button, but its just so sleek, we cant make out its there.

It's not too hard to use, and I actually prefer doing it this way. You just double tap on the trackpad, and drag your finger along the pad to highlight/drag. It's not only apple that does this, I think most laptops can do it too. Even on the HP laptop I'm currently using, I don't use the buttons unless I need to for some reason. Also, on a mac (on my powerbook at least), right click is the option button + click. It's not bad to use either.
