I HATE OWL CITY!!!! That guy has ZERO talent and he sings about the dumbest ****! I get super angry hearing it too!
I hate Bob Dylan. I think he's awful. If I wanted to hear the sound of a kazoo I'd play one on my own time rather than putting in a Bob Dylan record. (EDIT: I also am having fun telling people this is real! Even though its not 🙁 )

EDIT: I just punched my desk because I heard crappy owl city on a commercial for some crappy owl movie since whoever made the preview has no imagination and instead of putting in a fitting score they though it could be cute to play owl city for a preview of a stupid owl movie!

And it's not the worst song ever. I've often seen this posted as the worst song ever.
The one in the original post certainly doesn't brim with sophistication and originality, but I have a hard time criticizing these teeny-bopper* singers. It's like picking on little kids.
I do think she reminds me of one of those Nick stars, like iCarly or Victorious. That's not a good thing...but then neither am I their intended audience.
* If you needed any proof that I'm an old fart, my use of that word right there should do it.

There are PLENTY of awful music videos on the internet which achieve no where near the fame this one has - some of them are far worse.
My thought is the reason this one got so popular is the song is catchy, yet has absolutely AWFUL lyrics (though they are definitely memorable) and she's reasonably attractive.
