Apple doesnt charge a higher price than any other phone maker. A samsung GS3 costs the same.

In Europe the (unlocked) iPhone 5 is around $1083 from Apple whilst the Samsmug Galaxy III is between $773 and $900 from Amazon in the same country; that's between $310 to just $183 more expensive for the iPhone5, all prices including applicable local sales taxes.

I still bought the iPhone5, white - so as not to notice the scratches, rather than other phonual options.
Apple sometimes DOES charge a higher price than other phone makers! (in a free market - unlocked - situation)

You need to back to launch price of the Galaxy S3, not the price almost a year later.

The Galaxy S3 launched in the UK for £500 handset only, the iPhone 5 is £529. Not a huge difference in reality.
