I received my replacement from apple today via post and it is missing a lot of the text on the rear of the device. Should I return this one also?

Double check that. If it's a prototype sel it on eBay and make money :p otherwise return it.

I'd return it! I didnt realize what you meant until I zoomed in. I wouldn't want my phone looking like that. People would think it's a knockoff. If you can, take it to an apple store. If not, get in touch with apple support and show them the pic. It would help if you circled the areas where the wording is missing/smudged. Hope it works out for you!

Definitely not normal… something funky happening with the Apple logo there as well.

Ah, sorry, I also didn't realize what I was looking at....
I though it was just because the phone was pink, and throwing off the lighting in that picture :D

Is the back as "shadow-y" as your picture shows (ignoring the smudgy text)?
If so, then - no question - get that replaced.

I actually though at first the area in question was blurred out by the OP. I haven't seen anything like that before. Not sure why you wouldn't return it for a replacement.
