What is your scheduled delivery date? I think once they get to a new location they look at your calculated delivery date. If you are "ahead" of schedule, you may get held, same if you get to a local facility and are a day ahead. If they have room on the next plane or truck then they will move it, but if not, they hold it and move others as they know they will still have time to get it to you as scheduled. When they aren't straight out, they have slack in the system and that is when stuff shows up a day early, but I don't think there is much slack with the shipments for this item.

Smart cover arrives tomorrow, but IPAD just went to prepared for shipment. Looks like I'll be spending the weekend with my cover but no IPAD.

Anyone make it from prepared from shipping to scheduled delivery in 2 days? East Coast location makes it worse I am sure....

None of us would be so angry at the incompetent fools at Apple if they had STUCK TO FIFO. It is ludicrous that people who ordered later in the day than others have ALREADY RECEIVED theirs. I've called apple at least a half dozen times about this and they couldn't possible care less, which of course makes me even angrier.

Yes, apple screwed many of its long time (and new) customers buy blantently disregarding basic human fairness.... you order first, you get it first.

Anywho, just an FYI for everyone forgetting.. Apple is so far still within their promised shipping frames (in fact, they're really only just now getting to that frame..everyone's who has already shipped should be thanking Apple for over delivering on their promise). Where were all of you on launch day? Over a hundred pages of impatience and none thought to line up last Friday? Why, because you thought Apple was lying with their published schedule and now you're pissed off that they were not?

I guess what I'd really like to know is how so many 10 year olds can even afford iPads....

So no movement since 2am arrival into Newark. Had hoped for some action into a local NYC facility but nothing.

So I guess it looks like a tomorrow delivery. Not too bad but getting tough since my Smart Cover delivered yesterday. I have been trying to attach it to everything in my house. My TV, wife, kids, etc

Yeah whats that all about ???? 6 hours with it sat there doing nothing. I would have thought it would be moving to a local depot by now. Mine's sat there too. Almost in reaching distance

Did you also order the orange cover? I have yet to see a real-world picture of an orange cover, I think it's a cursed color.

Just called Apple to upgrade the shipping method to 2-3 days, which they did. When asked about how the orders are processed, the CSR answered they are starting to ship the iPads today. When told people already reported receiving them, the answer was "I cannot comment on external forums, blah, blah, blah" corporate BS....

Yep, you are right. Even though they have it in your local location, they will wait until the scheduled date. With this there maybe an exception since it says "estimated" not "scheduled". We'll see.

Ordered at 12:43 AM PST on 3/11.

32GB-Black-ATT model. Still showing "not yet shipped" as of this morning. Smart cover arrived yesterday and shipped from Memphis, TN. I am heading out of town middle of next week and going to be pissed if it isn't there by Wednesday... What is with the stall on all the ATT orders? Looks like some have shipped but very few. Also, I have only seen two other people on this entire forum with an order time earlier than mine.

Talked to Apple CS rep yesterday and he said "I highly doubt that others that ordered after you would have theirs shipped first". Obviously these guys have no clue of their own process...

I saw the orange cover at Best Buy yesterday. Looks just like the Apple photos - very nice and not too bright, but not dull. I liked it a lot.

Log into your Yahoo account and then enter your FedEx number. You will get much more detailed tracking information. I don't know why the main FedEx tracking site doesn't do this, but that yahoo website is considerably better for tracking.

Nope, went for the Black. I also chuckled a little at the idea of an orange cover in Florida, for obvious reasons.

Mine was held at sort facility twice and left Memphis a few hours later. Yours should be leaving today sometime. Here's what mine said:

That's good to hear, I didn't want something the color of a safety vest, but I did want something with some color to it, if that makes sense. Sounds perfect.

White 16 GB 3G AT&T model at 1:19AM still not yet shipped. When I called CS last night was told they were on schedule as 5 business days gives them until 1:19AM this Friday and then they have 5 more business days to get it to me. No way to upgrade shipping and they have not and are not giving anything away to orders that are within stated time frames. She did know that others had shipped and even been received. She even stated she regularly checks this forum...
