Does anyone think I'll get it earlier then the 18th? (estimated fedex date)

I am in the same boat...my question is why did it take FedEx so long after they are notified to pick the dang thing up...They know when the cut off time is. Then we had to wait all day yesterday with no movement...I don't see mine here tomorrow, but I am hoping to have it the 18th...I have to work part of that night...who wants to bet I am closer to 4:30 pm delivery?

Mines with urs, I have the same tracking also!

all of ours are sharing a bunk.. lets all bow our heads and pray that it delivers tomorrow because they did expedite all shipped orders.

WHY do they hold at the facility for hours and hours?

Did it come straight to Memphis from HK or Taiwan?

If so, it's clearing customs. Seems some bundles get held longer to be inspected and others get through quickly--from what I've gathered from the different strategies.

If it already cleared customs in Alaska, then I'm not sure what the delay is other than maybe missing a plane/truck to go to the next step.

nope. Mine is with yours and mine isnt supposed to be delivered until the 22nd. So your location must be closer to a fedex than mine. I wouldnt get too hopeful about it getting there any earlier. are you needing it for a trip or something?

Sort of. I get my son this weekend And we're taking a trip down to SD Zoo. I'd like to have him watch a movie or something on it on the way down.

He's 5.

Again.... here's the flight information I gathered. Some might find this useful for those that are in AK. And yes there are flights from HK to AK over the weekend.

I noticed that most or all of these flights departed yesterday. Do you have the flights our of AK today?

Thank you!!

Came through Alaska, went to Memphis and has remained there for over a day?

Anyone still stuck in Newark? I live in PA and it's about 3 hours from Newark to my local Fed Ex hub. It shouldn't have taken this long to get here...

Well it really did work. I called Apple CS and after much gentle complaining, the rep finally credited me for my leather smart cover as a good gesture.

Now I can finally convince my wife to let me buy an Apple TV! :D
At least I can just walk into the store and pick it up and not have to wait for it to move out of "Not Yet Shipped" status after forever.

Both the black 32 att ipads that I ordered on 3/11 before 1AM PDT went on ready to ship last night and shipped this morning. My ipad is shipping to vermont and the other ipad which I ordered for family is shipping to DC. I hope this gives hope to others who ordered this configuration.

You think delivery tomorrow?!?!?!?

You are dreaming lol. It would be great but, There is is no way (especially for me, since I live so far).

my order had to be near the front of the surge at 1:03am PST, so i was curious why, if i was arguably near the front of the surge, would people who ordered online hours later be getting deliveries while mine was still Not Yet Shipped, which means not only that it has not been picked up by fedex, but also that the item had not even been allocated in the production line at the factory... what this means is that other units, ordered way past the time i ordered mine, have managed to find their way into a box and out the door and onto a plane and delivered to an address, all before mine is even identified as mine yet. so despite being among the first to order online, 6 working days (4.5 business days) have transpired and i have not seen one glimmer of activity, despite obvious activity all around....

i mean whatever - its not life or death or anything. but you can't help but think about these things when you're stuck in such a situation, waiting for your name to be called, and knowing that you did your due diligence to line up at the appropriate time....

I can't help but wonder whether the haphazard, out-of-line-order shipping has something to do with the new order number randomization (described at https://www.macrumors.com/2011/03/1...d-2-orders-placed-through-apple-now-arriving/). Could it be as simple as that they're shipping the orders in sequential order number instead of by order time? Used to be, there was a monotonic relationship between the time and the order number. Sounds like a hack some inventory programmer would use, and the randomization broke it.

Having worked for UPS (I know, not FedEx), I can tell you that incoming packages can spend up to five hours in the facility before they are sorted. They have to be routed manually and loaded into the truck headed for the next sorting hub. It's not in-and-out just like that, unfortunately.

While we're all waiting.....
Q for folks here. Which size is ideal for you. 32GB or 64GB? With so much limitations on the way in which one can move and store into an iPad, what is ideal size. I'm torn between 32 and 64. My iPhone 4 is 32GB but then that's my music player as well, which this might not be. Have ordered both but not sure. From your past usage on iPad v1 or 2, what are the thoughts?

I got a 16gb this time around as I had only used 9 gbs on my original 32gb iPad. If I get close to going over this time around I'll get a 32gb for iPad 3.

x3... they just told me I would see it next Tuesday :(

...but they did just credit back my amex account the 2 covers I have here waiting :)

(They arrived yesterday and today... same web order, and also came from Shenzen)
