Prepared for Shipment

Ordered just before 3 am PDT, white 16g wifi (no engraving) and it *just* moved to "Prepared for Shipment".

Called CS and was told that it would ship w/in 24 hours and would be 3-5 days before delivered (?). She said there was no option for faster shipping - there is *so* much discrepancy on what CS is saying about/doing about this, it's hard to know what is true.

They did credit me for the case I bought without even being asked.

It seems like there was some holdup with the AT&T iPads.....maybe they're holding more back for the international launch. It would make sense, because I'm sure WiFi models far outsell the 3G models, and Apple would wish to hold back some 3G models for int'l launches. The name 'Verizon' iPad seems to indicate that it's not headed to any CDMA markets anytime soon (sorry, Korea).
Anyways, I'm only a little ticked that they're shipping "economy" distribution from China.....you'd think Apple could preposition iPads at their distribution centers in the states.

But hey, it'll ship before I wake up tomorrow, and be here (hopefully) Saturday. I'm expecting the Smart Cover tomorrow, and it shipped Monday.

Once again, lot's of us had to sit in prep for ship for 2 - 3 days.... so hold on til you get your tracking number before guessing which day it shows up.

AFTER CALLING APPLE AT LEAST 100 TIMES TODAY MY iPAD FINALLY IS PREPARED FOR SHIPMENT!!!!!!!:)

Finally some movement

First signs of life! 32gb ATT 3G showed up around 3:00 pm PDT in the "prepared for shipment" category. About time! Ordered at 11:43 am PDT on 3/11. Please get here soon!

Hey. Anyone else's shipment stuck as 'held' in Alaska but scheduled for delivery tomorrow? I'm in MA. I called apple who called fedex and they assured me it'll still come tomorrow.

Idk, seems like a log distance overnight. I've been held there for +36hours.

you arent the only one brother.. mine is stuck in newark too..

was stuck in alaska for a day.. now stuck at the airport.. this is annoying.. but i guess they really have no excuse to not deliver tomorrow.. one more day..
 
Miracle of Miracles!!!!!!

Finally, after nearly 6 days, my 64GB AT&T Black is Prepared for Shipment!

Also, called Apple and complained about the delay.... got 2 things... first, got a refund for my Black Leather Cover, and got overnight shipping.... however (and this makes sense) she pointed out that changing to overnight only worked when it reached the lower 48 states and there was no way to make the international part any faster.

So I guess we'll see how long it stays in Prepared for Shipment, that crazy Chinese Island and the purgatory that sometimes seems to be Anchorage.
 
Shipping from US?

Just got off the phone with an apple rep. I wanted to make sure my bank wasn't gonna think it was a fraudulent charge again. While on the phone with him, he said "ok looks like it'll be shipping from the US"

I didn't even ask, he just said it. Dunno if it's true or not. But thought I'd throw that out there.

After talking to 5 different reps i finally got them to admit they they are having a really hard time getting the 3G ipads out for some reason.

They finally offered to send me a case and said they would be happy to do it for free.

Attached shows you that they really are doing it for free and adding it to the order

I ordered two AT&T 3G, One Black, One White. The black has been updated to prepped for ship. The white models still "not yet shipped" Anyone order a white 64 3g att that has been moved to prepped for ship status? :D

I'm certain that it's the international launch. They've obviously got a hold back on some of the 3G/GSM iPads, especially the 32/64Gb ones. It seems like those are the ones where Apple got the supply/demand economics completely wrong (probably estimated based on previous consumption, or assumptions with Verizon iPhone 4). My guess is that they had to pull some of the 3g iPads off of shipments to Europe and send them to individual customers in the US. Otherwise they would ship from fulfillment centers, not the factory.

I hear that mine will ship from the US as well (Chicago to be exact) however, I'm still in the "Not Shipped Yet"

at least you're in AK and that's the hub all the shipments go through. first stop; YOU! when I lived in Anchorage it was nice cause it shaved days off my Apple order deliveries
