Agreed though I am REALLY hoping otherwise, I bet our shipment sits for a while in TW or Alaska thru Friday, maybe for Monday delivery, but not tomorrow.

I agree, we probably won't get it until Monday because they've been sitting in Alaska for 24 hrs for intl shipment release.
Out for delivery Again
Mine was ordered at 1:04 am pst on the 11th, it shipped March 14th, got to San Diego at 4:32 am on the 16th and spent the whole day out on a Fedex truck was returned to Fedex facility last night and is out on a Fedex truck again today. I bet my poor little iPad is getting car sick by now.

now I am totally lost because it says it takes off at 8:30 UCT time not Taiwan time. Which means it doesnt leave for 2 hrs.
then in this case it will be in memphis tonight 12:45am EST and then to newark NJ till tomorrow afternoon?
I don't think they will deliver on Saturday.
Priority shipping reality
Like others, I spoke with Apple CS after my iPad had languished for over 63 then 72 hours in "Prepared for Shipment" status. They apologized and told me they had upgraded it to "Priority" and then to "Overnight." Well, today I got a tracking number email and on the FedEx site it still showed "International Economy." So, I called FedEx to see if they had the "expedited" in their records. Very nice CS rep at FedEx who checked everything, told me that Apple had a contract with FedEx and that there was no such thing as priority from China. She told me that right now, my iPad was in a container with a whole lot of your iPads waiting for the flight tomorrow since we missed the cut-off today. She said there was nothing she could do until it cleared customs and reached DC and she would put a note in my record that they should distribute it as soon as it arrives and not wait for some window. She also said they would monitor it and see it makes good progress. However, since by the time it leaves China, it will be Friday - there's a good chance it will take the Anchorage (clear customs) and then go to Memphis and wherever else before it hits DC. OK, long post but the short of it is, there isn't any way a CS rep at Apple can upgrade shipping. It may say "Priority" on the Apple page, but it will only show up as International Economy on FedEx and will go that route.

Yeah, we've pretty much established that the priority and overnight shipping promises for the ipad 2 from the rep's is pure bull.
Mine has ben stuck in Shennan-shi since yesterday. I've ordered from Apple many times before but this is the first time I recall something tracking through Japan. Estimated delivery is still tomorrow (Florida) but I'm not getting my hopes up.
Im in Florida as well and my edd is March 22 by 4:30pm. What time did you place your order? Place mine at 1:06 I believe PST.

Order shipped data posting + credit card payment issue warning
Howdy all,
First the credit card surprise:
Turns out Apple posts the charge authorizations for individual items in rapid succession ... since I ordered 2 iPads, the apparently duplicate request triggered the anti-fraud controls at my credit card issuer, and yesterday resulted in my email from Apple being about a payment problem instead of the hoped-for shipping notice ... argh!
The good news: All was cleared up within an hour (called credit card to clear; Apple picked up the auth automatically and emailed all was clear again), and it did not seem to impact my placement in the iPad queue.
Now the order:
2 iPads ordered 01:29 PDT 3/11/11
64GB Black ATT engraved
64GB White ATT engraved
Shipping notices posted today, black first, then white.
Expected delivery dates 3/23 and 3/22 respectively (one oddness: black one has more tracking progress, but is expected a day later ...).
All is within stipulated specifications as Apple stated at order time ... 3-5 business days to ship; delivery 3/18-25.

Maybe i'm just a little mentally challenged at this point...who knows.

Just got off the phone with CS. (12:58PM CST.)I told her that I ordered on March 11 as soon as online store took orders. I said mine just got prepared for shipment while others had already received theirs. So I wanted to pay for overnight shipping. She said that because of the overwhelming orders, Apple had decided to do OVERNIGHT shipping (they're coming from China). So, she said, and I quote, "overnight shipping for your order is free. You don't have to pay anything. Apple has just decided to apply OVERNIGHT to ALL orders." And she said as soon as the package hits US soil, it should be delivered overnight.
All I can suggest is if you want to make sure, give CS a call and let them you want overnight shipping. And we'll see what happens. Hope this helps.
