2011-03-18 16:58:00 Left FedEx Origin Location SHENZHEN,
2011-03-17 23:24:00 Package received after FedEx cutoff time SHENZHEN,

It left SHENZHEN at 17:00 local time. It is now 01:40 the next day. No new scan. Nothing.

I am deeply concerned that FedEx lost my package. And this info is from the Yahoo site, which gives far more info than FedEx's site.

Mine is showing the same thing. Probably just missed a scen. It will likely be scanned at it's next destination.

I just realized that somethings on my apple order say: Shipped via Federal Express and some say shipped via Fedex ground. My iPad does say Federal express... would anyone know if Express Delivery would indicate the possibility of a saturday delivery?

it say Federal Express and all of them say that because that is the name of the business fedex= federal express

BLARGH. That is all.

My status is identical, looks like we're in the same boat... a bit frustrating that 24hrs after hitting lantau island, there has been zero movement.

I dont know whether this is good news or bad news but..... wait for it..... My ipad finally arrived at the new resort of the Far East..... LANTAU ISLAND !!!!!

FedEx Ground

I just realized that somethings on my apple order say: Shipped via Federal Express and some say shipped via Fedex ground. My iPad does say Federal express... would anyone know if Express Delivery would indicate the possibility of a saturday delivery?

I could be wrong about this, but I believe that FedEx Ground is the service that has delivered to my home on Saturday before. You might want to check with them and see if that is true.

I think mine jumped ship after it got to Lantau Island. No doubt out partying with drunken sailors.
My original delivery date was Mar 23. But sometime after it hit Lantau Island, Fedex moved the delivery date out to Mar 24.
Oye!!

You scared me for a second but mine still says the 22nd and I am still sitting on that island. I think it is possible that FedEx has a delivery window to meet and you get pushed later in it if they expect a huge number of deliveries in your area that day. I know that happens where I live. My cover went from On the Truck for Delivery to At the FedEx site with a note that it was not due for 2 more days. I live on a small island and there are only a few drivers. They can only deliver so much.

The other nice thing about a community like ours is I know all of the regular drivers and my current FedEx and UPS drivers sometimes surprise me by knocking on the door instead of just honking from my garage level waiting for me to come down the equivalent of 5 stories (the lazy ones do that)

I have packages that are Express Delivery and some that are ground FedEx Express or FedEx Ground)... I know they have two different shipping methods, I just don't know what is different about express delivery vs. ground.

The ground delivery guy came yesterday and I accidentally handed him an express tag - not realizing the difference (I thought he had been there the day before and left it on my door). He said "I don't have that package - that is a different truck and driver - I'm ground" I didn't think to ask the difference. I am hoping we get a fedex delivery at work this afternoon so I can ask!

Not Moving?

When FedEx reposts the same location and status 24 hours later, does that mean it hasn't moved AT ALL in 24 hours?!?

Express flies eveything to Memphis sorts and flies everything to the right place...also when it says overnight it means it...there is no pushing it back...if they do not deliver ontime 8, 10:30 or 11, and 4:30 you can request your money back...ground is just that it is done by truck and the delivery date is just an really good guess but not guaranteed and it generally takes longer...that is why they have different trucks because there are different rules and different time requirements. also different costs.

My iPad must be on the same flight as yours. Mine requests a window seat, and a bag of peanuts.

Unreliable

My smart cover was supposed to arrive by March 22nd (according to Fedex). I have not checked the status as of last night. At lunch time I get a delivery exception -- they made a delivery attempt to the house. It is like diarrhea -- you rely on a regular movements, trust that the schedule will be followed. And then boom , things get from Alaska to your St. Louis front door in a matter of 17 hours.

My 64-White-ATT is still somewhere in the universe, waiting to be reunited with me (Not Yet Shipped, ordered at 3:41 AM PST).

Stewie please read my previous posts. You are all set, your IPAD will get to you on the day they said. They are just being warehoused/stuck in Asia at various places much longer than a normal Fed Ex package would be. They are overwhelmed, scanning and updating is delayed, and they pushed out and "shipped" many, many IPADS all so they could beat the deadline. "Shipped" most likely means "We took your IPAD from the factory and dumped it on some island off the coast for the weekend. See we shipped it by the date we said we would." They will sit for a while but will get to you by the promised date.

Also not sure, but I think we are talking about pallets or containers of units and are not scanning/shipping single units loose at this point so they can't lose your without losing a very large package of them.

drivers are paid by the package and so the ground guy would not get paid for taking an express package...now I have seen them take them and drop it off at FedEx Office but they do not have to...I dont even think they go to the same place...FedEx Express is mainly done at the airports and ground is not.

Mine's in the same boat. Strike that - I'd feel better if it was on a boat...

My cancelled iPad 2 ATT 64 GB is now in Lantau =)

Fedex and Yahoo web sites both say it's still in Anchorage. Yet Fedex site says it's still "on schedule" to be delivered in the next two hours and 15 minutes.

I call the Fedex 800 number and the automated system insists it's on time to be delivered.

I dunno about this...

I think I may have read somewhere that this has changed, but a few years ago I got a Fedex ground package that was delivered by a contractor. It was literally "Bob's Delivery Service" or something like that. No connection to express at all.

So, mine was shipped Federal Express (as opposed to my cover which went Fed Ex Ground) and is due by 10:30AM on Monday morning - so I should stop worrying they won't be here on time? And I am guessing that means they will fly out of Memphis to PDX, and I believe that flight doesn't happen until like 1:00AM PDT, so it means I should get over it today and stop hitting the refresh button. Why is that so hard? I'm an adult, I should be able to stop obsessing...right???

Glad my iPad at least has some company...
Mine too. It is frustrating that it has been sitting there for 2 days now.

Jesus! Mine's at least updated me occasionally with a "package status" or whatever letting me know that they've got it. Yours still has the hope that it missed a scan, made its way over, and is on US soil. I know for sure that 3 hours ago, mine was still on Lantau...
