Ordered 64 black wifi at 4:10 AM Friday (EST). Got a shipment email this morning. Says it will deliver by EOD 3/17.
Just out of curiosity does your shipment specifically say ipad 2? Mine says "ipad" only. I know it's the 2 but would be hilarious if they shipped everyone old ipad 1s by mistake.. okay maybe not.
There goes my theory about the 64 GB Black Wifi models not going out yet. I ordered mine abt 18 minutes before you are it is still in its "Not Yet Shipped" status. sigh...
I ordered my 64gb black wifi at 12:54 am and it still hasn't shipped. It hasn't even prepared for shipment. They did ship my smart cover which should be here by Monday.
Thanks, I am just really confused right now. I was just told via att chat that if you ordered 40 minutes ago it wont arrive next week.
I live in the UK and had mine ordered by a great seller off ebay who's keeping very good contact with me. He ordered it at roughly 4:15am EST 16gb Black Wifi and Gray Smartcase.
He told me the gray smartcase had shipped, but hasn't contacted me since. He said he would let me know as soon as there were any shipping updates, so i'll assume it's still "not yet shipped".
I would love to know how they are sorting through them at the factory in china. They are clearly not doing it first come, first serve. You might find that they process the payments in order, but some payments might go through fully on apples side before others - and obviously they won't ship the ipad until the payment is 100% complete, so the orders are a bit jumbled up.
Obviously supply limitations of different models is a another factor. You guys must also remember that when it says shipped, it's not immediately put on a van and is out the factory. It will say shipped and then they will all be picked up at the end of the day, or maybe two or three times a day due to the amount of orders. What i am saying is, if one of you had your order shipped 4 hours before the other, they both probably left the factory at the same time. Or maybe 'Prepared for shipping' means it is packaged ready and they are waiting for the truck to turn up to pick all the ready ipads up.

Still no confirmation of mail. Also ordered red leather cover, still confirmation of it being mailed either. But a friend ordered 32gb black wifi only and received confirmation of delivery on 3/18/11. He ordered at 12:50am 3/11/11. Oh, mine was also engraved his wasn't

Just got confirmation email that my iPad 2 32GB Wi-Fi Black has been shipped Fed-Ex and is currently on the truck. According to Fed-Ex, it will arrive by March 17th.
Also ordered Black leather smart case and wireless keyboard. Both have shipped as well and expect to be delivered by Tuesday March 15.

I havent seen mine make any movement. I think only wifi and Verizon models have started to ship and my order went in at 12:54 AM PST Friday. I to feel that Apple has not done a good job shipping out the early orders from that day.

Ordered at 9:02 Eastern on launch day, holding steady with a ship on 4/1, delivery 4/6. I'm hoping it's a lane early April fools joke somehow.

I ordered right after coming back from the SECOND time I stood in line to find out ALL AT&T models were sold out.
Estimated delivery is Apr 7 (64gig AT&T black).
I will take this as a lesson in patience ;-)
