I'm in the same boat.. released at 13:48 AK Time for delivery,

there were at LEAST 5 flights from AK to Memphis and one to Indianapolis. Might call or tweet FedEx and see what the holdup is. Anchorage is a major hub they have the capacity to do quick turnaround, why am I sitting for 16 hours with no scan/departure?

It's my understanding from a short video I saw the other day on the internet that ALL FedEx packages go through Memphis.


Mine is shipped and on it's way.

Well, at least we are guaranteed to get out of there today, right? And then get them delivered tomorrow!
 
Just noticed there's a FedEx flight out of Hong Kong any minute now with Memphis as it's destination. I wonder if it's a direct flight or if it will still stop in Anchorage on it's way.

hopefully. Just in such a major hub to have a 16 hour backlog is pretty bad. I know they got a few inches of snow over the weekend, but I lived there for 20 years it takes at least 2 Ft of snow in 2 days to cause a problem with the infrastructure.

on the fedx site it said to arrive on the 14th but on apple site it said to arrive on the 18th

Actually just noticed it's stopping in CA...probably just to refuel...and then off to Memphis. This could potentially speed up my shipping time by a day.

I don't think that's true. My iPad accessories went from China to Anchorage, AK to Oakland, CA to Portland, OR to it's destination. No Memphis.

OK I called FedEx. Everyone from YESTERDAY who got to Anchorage -- WE ARE STILL being cleared through customs. It may have been a batch miss-scan that said "released for delivery" but it has NOT. It's still clearing customs, should clear today and go out tonight, all deliveries ON TIME (with the FedEx estimates) and possibly earlier. Hang tight!
 
2 days early

FedEx had my delivery date of Thurs the 14th after shipping last Fri the 8th... Mine just arrived today, 2 days before FedEx's delivery date and 1 day before the one in the Apple Shipping email. No matter what it was way ahead of the delivers by April 25th I got when I ordered the thing. Syncing now...:)

question to the folks who requested that the ipad be held at the fed ex sort facility.. online it says that the package will be available the next day after it was supposed to be delivered.. and as you guys know, i cant wait until saturday when my ipad arrives on Friday - were you able to get it the same day ??? or wait until next day??? i dont want to risk it being left outside and i dont want to wait until saturday morning to get my ipad 2... pls post your experience..

was told via twitter that it's "in the staging area" in Anchorage, expect new scans to show by 3pm, assuming that's AK time? not sure.

Also told by another rep via twitter that "in transit" literally means "in transit" not "sitting in a warehouse" but they can't tell me where my package is, which is confusing since it's been 21 hours now. It would have arrived somewhere if it's really "in transit" so why hasn't it? They refuse to admit it may hve been miss scanned, or they don't know where it is. All I get is

"Your package is scheduled to arrive by 4/14 at 4:30pm CDT and will arrive as scheduled."
 
mine was ordered last night 4/11 7:00pmEST USA for a white 64gb wifi model

im hoping this will be sooner than that i called all of the local stores all weekend and none had any 64gb models so i figured better order asap. then my fiance gets my 16gb wifi 1g ipad

Hmmmmm.....I wonder if they held/are holding back due to the Verizon connectivity issues that were being worked out. I'm sure they don't want to ship out if the hardware needs to be addressed in any way. (Though it sounded like a software issue to me)


On the other hand - I haven't heard of other VZ iPad2s being delayed....so maybe not.

Well, finally after just over a month of being backordered, my J&R order of the iPad 2 and polyurethane cover has a UPS tracking number. The tracking number isn't on UPS site yet but I suspect my package should arrive by the end of Thursday.

Yes, as I suspected, it'll arrive at my home on the 14th, 2 days from now. Yippee! The only thing waiting for shipment is the iPad 2 dock.
